City of Olympia Urban Forestry

Just as the one billion trees planted worldwide through the Green Belt Movement were not planted by one person or one group of people, but rather by many people in many organizations throughout the world, so too will these 1000 new members of Olympia's community be planted on Saturday, March 29, 2008, by people from all walks of life, in all parts of the City, representing the diversity of citizens that comprise our community.

Great!

During the early OlyBlog years we met and cleaned up the Fetid Lake of Doom (aka Capitol Lake) as a group. We can do this thing too. Our FLOD activity was reactive. The proposal here is proactive. This is local, it is activist, it is a community service. Looks like fun.

Thanks, Joe

In appreciation of Joe's effort today -- thought he deserved a push to the top.  There's still room to volunteer for this worthwhile event.
