THIS is cool

Imagine using the capitol building or the old DOC building as a canvas for this. And here's how to do it. I have the necessary high-powered green laser.

shopping list time

If you have the high powered green laser (I mean, who doesn't have one of those?) what don't you have that would make this work?

Seriously, why do you have a high powered green laser?

»

I ask myself the same quesiton

It's just so damn cool. On a good night I can actually paint a green dot on the capitol dome from the eastside. All you need to make this work is a good, a camera with tracking capabilities, a high lumins video projector, and some geekatude. Would be a cool interactive Arts Walk project.

Here's a list of equipment used in the video:

  • PC Laptop - ASUS A8JS - Core 2 Duo 1.83 Ghz 1GB Ram Nvideo Geforce Go 7300 256MB - VGA and DVI out.
  • Pansonic PTD5600U 5000 ANSI Lumens 1024x768 DLP Projector.
Watec 221S Security/Astrononmy Camera with manual iris zoom lens.
  • Bogen magic arm and super clamp.
  • Pinnacle PCTV USB capture card.
  • 60mW Green Laser (super illegal in a lot of places and very dangerous)

yeah

I second that "(i)t's just so damn cool."

We're not alone

This is fantastic - I've got a laser pointer! ... Holy mackerel ... ah man, that's terrific!
