Re: my 3 local postsSounds good to me, sinner.
my 3 local postsWell, Merwyn is right about one thing, I called him an ass. I'm banned from commenting until I create three hyperlocal posts. Unless anyone has any problems with my rationale I will consider even poster and Free Wall posts hyperlocal. Which means I should be back to comment capable status tomorrow.
Re: Olyblogger of the MonthI also agree.

I was thinking that we should feature out monthly sponsor a bit more prominently. That little ad down on the left side is barely noticeable. I think a better place for it would be at the very top of the right hand column. What say you all? RR Re: unpublishing commentsHow about adding a signature to the unpublished comments?

served its purpose and clutters up the blog. Cheers, R. unpublished threadI unpublished S6's thread from this morning because it was just a
continuation of the Olympia comments. RR Re: Olyblogger of the monthRob R.: would you like to add the honorable mention for IJ? You can
include it in my post, or add it as a comment. Cheers, Rick Re: Olyblogger of the monthI was going to vote for Indilympia because the well posts contained photos
as well as text and was all original hyper local content. Almost a prototype of the kind of submissions we're looking for. I'm willing to accept Rick's proposal if that's the group's decision, but would like to write the honorable mention statement for Indilympia Re: Olyblogger of the monthOk. So "decorabilia" for Olyblogger of the month. Honorable mention to
"Indilympia Jones" for the post on the artesian wells? Other nomination? Comments? Cheers, Rick Re: Olyblogger of the monthI nominate Jim Anderson for his coverage of the Olympia School Board. I
really like was Indilympia has been up to, but mostly I'd like to see what a public school teacher will do with free services from a clowns. Emmett On Thu, May 1, 2008 at 8:22 AM, Rick McKinnon <mckinnon.r...@comcast.net> wrote: Olyblogger of the monthHey all,
I'd like to nominate Indilympia Jones as Olyblogger of the month for April for the post titled "The Other 95 Artesian Wells in Downtown Olympia." ([link]) Other nominations? If not, give me a signal so that I can post this today. Cheers, Re: commentary, criticism, banning, etc.I haven't been all that active lately, but I just wanted to react to Rob
W.'s vision for Olyblog, which I've seen him describe before. I understand the desire to create a place that is "an alternative to the media status quo," but I feel Rob W's application of this fairly broad description is not the right way to go. Re: an idea"anything goes" thread: sounds good to me. I wasn't a fan of the hyper-local restriction in the first place.

I hate to say this, but the role of docent may not be for you if that's what you want to do. Unless the other docents share your views, in which case, it's not for me. I see OlyBlog as a place where we get to confront other viewpoints through reason. I welcome TFI's opinion, and I'd welcome JPO's and even Tschida's Re: commentary, criticism, banning, etc.Hey Rob,
Perhaps I wasn't clear. What I meant to say is that I want OlyBlog to be an alternative to the views that are all too often espoused and supported in the mainstream media environments, views that substantiate the notion that the President is protecting the American people from harm. When in reality, the President is actually enabling and creating an environment where people all around the world want to do harm to the "America" that we all love (albeit to varying degrees and in varying ways.) |
