St. Louis -- yesterday

According to the Wall Street Journal (and the AP): "Barack Obama attracted 100,000 people at a Saturday rally here, his biggest crowd ever at a U.S. event."

As much as I would love to

As much as I would love to go to a Barack rally, this looks absolutely miserable to me. I mean, those people in the middle-- what are they doing?! Can they even hear?

But I am Just Another Voice

They are just

...being there. Want to feel a part of history I suppose.

I know what you mean JAV

After seeing Spinal Tap somewhere around 1990 quit going to any event at which I could not spit on the performer if I so chose.

Now I've never spit on a performer, lobbed a few empty beer cans maybe, heckled Robyn Hitchcock once, (you have not heard Freebird until you've heard it sung by a nasal English songwriter with 3/4 of Mission of Burma backing him up. 10 minutes in we were begging for forgiveness) but never spit on a performer even though many deserved much worse. I just reserve my ability to do so.

Oh, yeah.

I can easily understand why some folks wouldn't want to go to an event like this. Makes perfect sense. I was just speculating on why folks go in spite of it.

Better than a Palin rally,

Better than a Palin rally, though, where the crush of the crowd might trap you next to a burning cross.
»

Wow!!!

that looks amazingly similar to some of the film footage of Hitler's speeches. Can you say deja vu?

...and, of course, you'd say the same...

...if it was a Palin rally, right????
»

Ha ha JT

Yea, your right. Ha ha. Looks just like the Nuremberg rally save for the swastikas, the endless military ranks of Aryans, and oh yea, Hitler. Moving On...
»

The Hitler comparisons are desperate and sad

This also looks like a hot 4th of July at Coney Island. Nothing TERRIBLY sinister.

Aim low boys

They're all ridin' Shetland ponys now.
