Nov 10 2007 - 9:00am Nov 10 2007 - 4:00pm America in Solidarity and AM 1090 are proud to present the first-ever Northwest Progressive Convention, taking place Saturday, November 10th, at First Congregational Church in Tacoma. This event is the first of its kind in Washington State, and we hope it won't be the last. We here at America in Solidarity know how important the progressive movement is to improving the lives of America's working families, and we are happy to do provide this opportunity for the Northwest progressives to come together under one roof. The good folks at First United Methodist Church were grateful enough to offer us the venue, and many other tremendous organizations have pitched in to make this a success, including the ACLU of Washington State, the Washington State Fair Trade Coalition, Health Care for All Washington, and Washington Public Campaigns. Our keynote speaker for this event will be courageous California Congresswoman Lynn Woolsey, co-chair of the Out of Iraq Caucus in the House of Representatives. Also speaking will be Congressman Adam Smith of Tacoma, candidate for Congress Darcy Burner, Major-General Paul Eaton, and more. We'll be hosting our own Presidential Straw Poll and we'll have lots of great workshops and panel discussions on a variety of important issues. Learn all about the event at our website - www.americasolidarity.org - Tickets are $20 per person in advance, and will cost more at the door. Lunch is included, so come on down and join in the fun. This is our country - let's take it back! |
