One of the really interesting/wonderful things I've picked up on since dipping my toe in the urban art movement is the worldwide sense of community. Artists are sharing their art in a manner that leads to wide spread criticism/copying/inspiration, and it's amazing watching the network expand globally. For an excellent example of the global scope one need only peruse the Wooster Collective for a few minutes to see the mounting wave.

One night a few years ago as I was tangentially web browsing I came across a really interesting website called Graffiti Archaeology. Needless to say it stuck with me and fueled my notion of the urban landscape as ephemeral sculpture/canvas. Graffiti Archaeology updated it's news page today...and beyond f'ng awesome Olympia now has its very own page.

Thank you Cassidy. In the words of Bill & Ted, you're most excellent.

OLYMPIA LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS OPEN MEETING

Sharon Moore, Board Member of the Thurston County League of Women Voters, invites anyone interested in good government to attend their open meeting Thursday, October 25, 6:30 PM at Traditions Cafe, 300 5th Avenue SW, Olympia.

Public funding for our political campaigns will be explained by special guest speakers Linda and Kent Sternhill-Davis, including how public funding works, why our state and nation need it, and what can be done to make it happen in Washington State.

Public financing programs are thriving now in Maine, Arizona, and elsewhere in the country and offer value to our communities in the same manner as do our public librairies, schools, parks, and other public services we support through our government.

Just one more thing we have to stand up for now while we still can. Come on folks, I don't think you understand how terrible the internet blockade in China is. So here is a normal google seach for tiananmen massacre. link Please Notice the tanks...

Well now we should take a look at what the chinese version of www.google.cn link AMAZING!!! NO PICTURES FROM JUNE 4th 1989!! How did that happen? Hmmm....maybe it is because google bowed to the pressures the communist regime was placing on them to make a search engine that would filter out their atrocities. The CCP told google that either they complied or they wouldn't do business with them, which is super lame because the russians who started google.com had fled communist russia.

So sign this freakin petitions before the neo-cons (see also giant evil corporations) own anymore of our minds and souls!! save_the_internet/
