Frequently, life presents moments where two or more equally valuable and beneficial choices are presented to us. At such moments, we may become stuck; the stakes become high as we feel forced to choose. There are numerous ways to get past this point of being stuck; this seminar presents one way, using Tarot to assist the process.

Please note, this application does not involve "casting one's fate" on mystical or oracular messages derived magically from the Tarot, but instead on concrete and personally conscious reflections derived from the choices one has to choose from. The process is meant to empower and clarify, not to mystify and reduce personal responsibility.

This seminar should be of use to anyone, whether they have never had exposure to Tarot, or are ancient adepts of the art. Moreover, it is not strictly necessary to attend all three days from the beginning, but clearly greater advantages accrue if so.

Please feel free to bring your own deck. Decks will also be available for those without them. Pen and paper might also be a good idea. If you have another system you also use, such as runes, the I-Ching, or variations of Tarot that are not Tarot, please do not bring them. Useful as they are, the seminar will be clearer if alternative decision-making methods are not also introduced.

This seminar is limited to persons 18+ of age, so that no one feels compelled to limit the scope of any questions (or the discussions we have) because wonderful children are present also.

See you there!

I wrote a bit more about it here, but for those who don't live in SE Olympia, here is the plain, yet detailed flier that Rhenda Strub sent out.

I was wondering if she sent out other ones to other neighborhoods.

Planned Parenthood Breaks the Law, Screams Political Attack...

Performing illegal late-term abortions and falsifying documents is NOT a political attack.  Now go back to killing babies....

One day after District Attorney Phill Kline hit Planned Parenthood with 107 criminal charges, the organization’s top official insisted it all boiled down to a political attack.

....

The Johnson County district attorney filed a 107-count criminal complaint Wednesday against the Overland Park clinic saying, among other things, that the clinic performed illegal late-term abortions. The complaint included 23 felonies and 84 misdemeanors.

Oly public Bloglines is loosely organized, currently I have about 30 feeds stashed under "Personal". I'm going to go through the list and introduce this crew of local bloggers in a series of posts.

America Ya Gotta Love It is Jerry Farmer's blog, he is a radio columnist for KRXY 94.5 ROXY:
I seem to be cursed with a sense of the obvious. Parts of my mind immediately jump to the retrospectively obvious conclusion. I say retrospectively because not everyone sees it as obvious, including me, until my twisted brain points it out.

Laura blogs on Angstmama:

I can’t say I’ve become a wise person yet, but I’ve learned to not judge a book by it’s cover; that leading a quiet, ordinary, and thoughtful life is noble; that you can’t confuse the idea of being ordinary with being common; and that I’ll probably always be a hopeful person.

Jon and Jessi blog about "their foster to adopt parenting experience." on Building our family:

One of the aspects of being a foster/adoptive parent is that bonding and attachment can be a challenge. In the early days of our time with T3, we were concerned about this, and through the state, we enrolled in this attachment clinic. The first part of that was having Jessi and I individually take T3 to their office for this videotaped test.

Jacob Stewart gives us an "eclectic view of life, family, and work in Olympia and environs" through his Cosmos's Condo:

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement has released a 300-page report on the infamous zapping of University of Florida senior Andrew Meyer, whose rowdy actions, catch-phrase and police Tasering during a John Kerry town hall forum made international headlines.

''Don't Tase me, bro,'' Meyer, 21, squealed after police put the screaming, combative student down on the ground and relaxed him with 50,000 volts from a Taser.

FDLE has determined that University of Florida police did nothing improper in subduing Meyer after he resisted arrest.

A statement from University of Florida President Bernie Machen and links to the FDLE report can be found at
www.president.ufl.edu/incident/.

''While I am pleased that the FDLE review is complete, we still have work to do on a separate front. As an academic institution, it is our responsibility to continually review -- and improve-- how we foster an open environment that is also safe for our ever-changing campus community,'' Machen wrote.

The infamous incident, whose footage has been viewed thousands of times on youtube.com, took place on Sept. 17 during a forum hosted by Sen. John Kerry at the university in Gainesville.
