Had a dinner at Old School today starting at 5pm, I reserved the back room, figured about 6-8 people. We had dang near 20 people openly wearing sidearms crowding Old School and eating pizza. I somehow forgot to mention the size of a "small" pizza to my friends :-) We spent about 3 hours chatting, and having a good time. Nobody had any problems or issues with us, and I'm pretty sure that 20 people openly carrying were noticed. When we were all getting ready to leave, we chatted with with a couple of guys playing video games about OC. Drew Hendricks showed up as well, and had a good time talking and exchanging information. It was quite a rush to have 20 people show up as a show of solidarity against the OPD's harassing actions.

I think that the citizenry should engage in planning the future of the community by using GIS to map resources. Without resource mapping, there is little to plan. --more site! pls post if you have stuff in this vein! Thanks Meta- FYI: TerraCommon is building towards EcoCity Olympia, a convergence & celebration of green living Spring 2008; those interested in participation please feel free to contact TerraCommons & Chad360 directly.

I've been having an idea for an Olympia city wiki floating around in my head for a while; while on tour, I decided to do some research and see how hard it would be to make one. Well, turns out the folks at Davis wiki (the largest English-speaking city wiki) have already expanded their wiki server to be used for any purpose, and, being totally inspired by their wiki, I set up an Olympia wiki: olywiki.
» This could become an incredible community resource, allowing anyone to access specific information about local culture, businesses, politics, events, activism, and more, always in a contextual environment. It's really bare-bones right now but with your help, it could be amazing, and it could serve the entire community, whether you're an activist, a business owner, a secretary, a musician, or anyone else with an interest in local affairs. Right now, the URL is oly.wikispot.org but I'd be willing to shell out some cash for a catchier domain and attach it to the wiki, if a lot of people show interest. What do you all think?

Dan Fogelberg passed away today. He was one of my favorite singers. May he rest in peace.

There are squirrels (or squirrel) living in the ceiling of my office. It's also the floor to my room. I don't know what they're building in there, but it's loud and it wakes me up. I think I know how they got in and could seal it, but don't want to seal them in and have to smell them rot. I don't really want them to die at all, they just need to find another place to live.
» Does anybody know a cheap (the freer the better) way to get rid of squirrels?

Here is the entry for "anarchism" from the 1910 edition of the Encyclopedia Britannica. I post the 1910 version because it is the truest definition from a mainstream source. Later definitions in many dictionaries and encyclopedias seemed to have morphed into a political statement condemning anarchism as comprising nothing but violence, chaos, and disorder.
» This is for the most part, an honest and true description of what I claim to believe when I say that I am an anarchist.
