The Raccoon Collective has been working extra hard as of late and for some time now has been in negotiations with the owner of the former Capital City Studios building (911 4th Ave). Currently we are working out a work trade agreement too remodel the space. Once the initial remodeling is complete we hope to open most of the space including the venue by June 28th. This space is ideal for:
So far we have talked of collaborating with the Procession of the Species, The YODA Project, What U GOT fest, Bicycle Records, Olympia Family Theater and are looking for the participation of other groups in town as well.....We are also in need of experienced carpenters who would love to help the community arts and be hired by us to lead a work crew as well as multiple vulunteers for such a crew.

May 21 2007 - 12:00pm May 21 2007 - 6:00pm SURGE! The Third Annual, International, Social Uprising, Resistance and Grassroots Encouragement (S.U.R.G.E.) Film Festival, Conference and Film Festival Network - The SURGE Film Festival and Conference Program is below or found by clicking here! surgefilmfestivalandconferenceprogram.pdf If you can't print it out visit our website for other versions! Thanks! Title of Event: “This is a World Premiere. Being an American baby boomer, Hitler's Germany has always been a thing of text books or black and white documentaries. I did not suffer the horror or feel the guilt of association (I am Irish-German). Surprisingly, what brought the tragedy of the Holocaust to life was a visit to a peaceful cemetery in Germany, undisturbed by grieving visitors. The moss-covered dates on the tombstones revealed the abrupt end of a culture. There was no one remaining to tend to thefamilies' tombstones and no one left to bury. As the WW II generation fades away, it is my hope that this short film is a tribute to their sacrifices and a caution for future generations about religious intolerance and political fanaticism. Thank you.” Thousand Days and a DreamThe Plachimada struggle is more than four years old.Perhaps, no other agitation in recent times in Kerala hasattracted national and global attention all this one has. What initially began as a struggle for survival of a fewthousand tribal villagers in central Kerala, has grown intoa people's movement against the most powerful corporategiant in the world, the Coca Cola. An agitation againstCoca Cola has become a movement against U Simperialism and the policies pushed by the State andCentral Governments in India. The film captures the spirit of the anti coca cola struggle, trace the history of the struggle and discuss the severalissues raised by the struggle. It also documents thepoignant moments of the struggle and share the dreamsand sorrows of some of the active participants of thestruggle. BUT SOME ARE BRAVE,But Some Are Brave is a five-minute oil painted animated film...

I had been homeless before my experience with gangstalking began. I was so happy when I finally recieved transitional housing and was sharing an apartment with a young mentally ill woman who was going to college to become a cop or a corrections officer. The apartment was in a fantastic location right in the East Village near where I went to Paint everyday and go to my Dr. appointments. I thought that the gods were smiling on me but this new found happiness did not last. This girl was constantly verbally harrassing me, taping all my movements with her cell phone. She would scream obcenities and could be heard from the street. On one occasion she knocked a plate of food from my hands and pushed me screaming the whole time. I was with a friend and we called the police. It was after that incident and then one other incident where I started being followed everywhere I went by a huge group of people. Peopele would interfere with my sitting in peace on the bus always. They would congregate in front of the art studio talking about how crazy I was and my friends were. Some of the people in the art studio would talk about the need for me to have an attitude adjustment. It was around this time that I was subjected to what sounded like music box music with a human voice words talking about leaving reality. My roommate would always be with her boyfriend and it was always at night when this would occur. It would always say the same thing. My dog was poisened but I don't know exactly how as I always walked her on a leash. She was throwing up buckets of blood and my roommate said that I should never have walked her on the street as it wasn't safe. She was found to have consumed ground glass. Luckily my doggie survived,Poor Girl!! I would have moms with little kids surround me and say look mama that lady talks with her mouth closed. Everywhere I went construction workers would call me "puta", "white bitch" and psycho

d00c4 a.k.a antikrist is apparently a bored teenager in Serbia who has too much time on his hands. He seems to be responsible for defacing a local SPSCC student group web site, at least 4 times in the last 4 months. d00c4's interest doesn't appear to be politically motivated at all, most likely he is just having fun. BRICK, the student group, would like to find a permanent way to prevent their site being hacked, anyone have skills to offer them? BRICK's advisor David Hyde responded to my email query when I first came across the defacement. I asked him if I can post about this, he has agreed, and also adds: But if any Olympians that know something about how to prevent hacking wanted to step up and help, we’d be much appreciative. They can contact me directly. David Hyde

Mozart's Requiem inspires Olympia Choral Society Once again I hope to see some of you there. The choir and orchestra sound amazing! And it's FREE! (although we do of course accept donations but that's up to you ~ there is no "suggested donation" at the door or anything!)

Deleted because it's racist. Next time you call the police there's no need to give them the race of whoever's physically threatening you.
