This may be beyond your area of expertise but I'm wondering how to get published.

I have an idea in mind and quite a lot of material for a book that will probably be appreciated by half of the people who read it and will provoke the other half to want to burn it and possibly to want to hurt me physically.

How should I go about marketing this book to prospective publishers?

Sincerely,

John M.

There will be a carpool from Olympia to go to a Peace Vigil in Aberdeen Washington. The Peace Vigil is held regularly on Mondays at 7pm. This will be a display of solidarity with Aberdeen Peace Activists who are opposed to the use of their port to ship weapons of destruction to Iraq.

*Important*: The Olympia carpool will be at 5:30; at the Old Rainy Day Parking lot (Division and Harrison).

The vigil in Downtown Aberdeen will be held at the Aberdeen City Hall, which is at 200 East Market Street.

(edit: This is the correct location.)

So come take part and express your dissent towards this rotten occupation in Iraq. Don't let your tax dollars be spent anymore on propping up the interests of multinational oil conglomerates!

I hope to see you there!

The following is communication between Matthew Green and I regarding his views on the Poor Peoples Union platform. First, my email to him:

Matthew,

There are two big issues, one that you are certainly aware of and another that is in the initial stages.

The first being a permanent "tent city" modeled after Dignity Village in Portland. As I'm sure you're aware, the IJFH, recently took a trip to visit Dignity Village, and I have heard some positive initial feedback.

I do not believe that a camp would replace other transitional housing options, but would supplement them, serving to lower the first rung of the ladder and smoothing the transition from the streets to housing. It would provide people an inexpensive option, for them as well as taxpayers. It would be a safe place for people to experience living in a community, provide stability, and in the end facilitate their transition. Camp Quixote, in just a couple of months has proven to be an important stepping stone for residents, with many gaining employment and others moving on to permanent housing. What is your position on "tent cities" as an addition to the housing options in place? Feel free to answer with questions of your own that you may have about the model that we are striving to establish.

The Tumwater fire departments had a wonderful opportunity for training new firefighters yesterday when the owner of a property being cleared for development allowed them to burn an existing structure. Overall, the fire lasted several hours. The burn enabled new firefighters to practice their skills in a controlled burn environment.

PARIS, France (CNN) -- Conservative Nicolas Sarkozy has won France's presidential election, beating his Socialist rival Segolene Royal by a comfortable margin, television projections said.

Forecasts by four pollsters showed 52-year-old former interior minister Sarkozy won about 53 percent of the vote in the second-round ballot and will succeed fellow conservative Jacques Chirac, who was president for 12 years.

Tahoma Activist is keeping an Urgent Updates page.

He also has a full article: Spread the word - the occupation of Iraq has spread to Grays Harbor

Trey on The Rambling Taoists continues to write great posts of reporting and reflection.

We've got probably 100 or more officers who have been told repeatedly to expect trouble. They've been putting in long hours day after day and the "trouble" they are so prepared to encounter hasn't materialized at all. Almost any person will find themselves in a difficult personal situation if they are all keyed up for a confrontation and then nothing happens.
