Amy asked me to post this information:
It Could Be Your Mom!!

Your help is desperately needed for people whose homes were destroyed in the winter storms in Washington State.

Right here, right now, a group of seniors and low-income people, living check to check, have had their homes destroyed and have not received any FEMA or other money to help fix it.

Can you help? Yes!

One such house was a trailer that an elderly disabled man was living in. A tree fell on the trailer crushing the back portion. He was still living in it with tarps draped on it. He had no bathroom or heat. He had no funds to replace the trailer or move. An RV was donated to him and he is happier than he has been in a long time.

Who are they?

From the letters to the editor of The Olympian:

Police should be the only ones with guns

Emergencies require intelligent leadership! It is so easy to deal with emergencies if you just use knowledge properly and do the smart thing. Here is an example: criminals with guns is a real emergency.

However, we must compliment Chief Gary Michaels on his training of “officers to only use deadly force as the last possible alternative.”

We have an emergency given the rise in violence directly because of the world wars going on. So how do we protect officers so they may safely take the only shot as a last resort? Answer: You put a governor in office as a servant leader — not a dirty word like politician — who immediately signs executive orders with emergency clauses that cannot be overridden that do the following things:

• Create of a unified police force — international, federal, state, county, city.

• Ban guns, only allowing the unified police force of which chief Michaels team is a part of to have guns.

• At all ports of entry like airports, seaports, etc. require fingerprint identification as positive proof of identification.

• Computer check-in/check-out programs collect the guns (all of them) from private citizens and store them in a large weapon storage area and they may be “checked out” during deer hunting season.

That way the police can relax a bit and make good judgments before they shoot somebody they regret shooting later. Plus if they are the only ones with guns it is just common sense.
