While looking for gainful employment (anyone got a lead for me?) I came across this on the Employment Security site.
At Sprint, NOW is not a mantra, its not a demand and its not a time in space. NOW is a fact. Its a lifestyle. Its the way we conduct business with each other. And its the very essence of the experience we deliver to our customers every single day. We believe in the now. We live in the now. We deliver the now to our customers. We do this by taking immediate action, by thinking ahead and by never being satisfied with anything less because anything less would be waiting too long. So, are you ready to join Sprint and Live Life in the Now? Run hamster run! Your Corporate Overlords are hungry.

Fred E. Walker, Communist, just appears out of nowhere, struts briefly across the Pacific Northwest political stage, and then vanishes back into nowhere. Having a "Party name," or alias was standard fare for members of the Communist Party in that era. Ludwig Katterfeld, the 1916 Socialist Ungovernor, became "J. Carr" when he later joined the CP. In Walker's case, it is difficult to ascertain if "Fred E. Walker" was a genuine or fake name. We do know he was a native of Oakland, California, born around 1907-1909, and had Finnish-American inlaws in Woodland, Wash. He is the first Ungovernor we have encountered who was born in the 20th century. And quite possibly the youngest ever, being 23 or so at the time he ran in 1932. We first encounter Walker in the late 1920s (about the same time Katterfeld was kicked out of the CP) in connection with the Young Workers (Communist) League summer schools. One was held in Winlock, Wash. in 1927 and another in Woodland in 1928. Finnish Americans seemed quite open to the idea of communism and with Winlock being a community of Finns, it was natural to have the school situated there.

Hello All, My family needs help with an animal-would-be-pet problem... ...in August, once again, a group of people renting the house next door moved-out quickly and abandoned an adorabe, cozy, female cat that is pregnant. This cat adopted us, and we responded by providing food & shelter, but now the situation is getting rather stressful... ...you see, we already have 3 cats! And the soon-to-be momma cat is acting fierce and trying to drive off all the other cats... ...this is a stressful situation for all involved, and we need help ASAP~ If anybody can please foster this cat while she delivers, that would be great! Just think, "kittens for the holidays"...what could be better? >grin< I know this is a long-shot, but I was hoping that someone could step to the plate and help us out- -I loathe the thought of taking the cat to the animal shelter, and am really at my wits end here. We understand that this behaviour is a natural reaction, but are also concerned for the three cats that are our pets that also call this place "home"... ...so, if there is a family out there of cat lovers, this is an "instant pride", and the moma kitty is cute & lovey, and likes to sit on the lap and doze (which I find to be an adorable trait). Please chime in if you can help~
