As many of you are aware, OlyBlog was down during the early hours today. This was due to my foolishness and I hope all of you will forgive me.

Here's how it happened: I wanted to try my hand at this "screen scraping" I've been hearing so much about. It seems like such a big buzzword at the moment and it was my desire to be on top of the technobabble that did me in.

At first I tried scraping the screen with the end of an open matchbook. Too wimpy. Next I tried the ice scraper I use on the Olds. Actually I just used it a couple mornings ago in our first frost up here. It works on windshields, but scraped nothing off my monitor. Finally I brought out the Big Gun, the Sharp Razor.

Since I have had a beard for quite some time, razors stay sharp in this house. And this one worked well. Too well.

I scraped all the pixels off the screen. They sparkled and whirled around in the air, floating like little UML dots. Horrified, I realized I had basically destroyed OlyBlog.

So, fortifying myself with several pots of coffee, I quickly gathered up each little pixel and, with the help of a small army of volunteers, put the tiny things back in order and then returned them to their home.

Again, I apologize for any difficulties my thoughtless actions have created for all of you.
