Mike told me to drop by the scene this evening. I had Orion with me, and he was having serious reservations as we approached via the cemetery.

I'd given him my 18Kt Gold Ankh as a protective amulet. Oma Selma gave it to me many years ago. She got it off the Home Shopping Network, but I didn't mention that. I led him to believe that it would repel the undead as it stands for eternal life. I also suggested he wear his LED headlamp and sound dampening headphones.

Furthermore, I let him carry the green LASER!

I brought my new Maxwave wireless audio support blasting a Halloween mix of mp3s, including at least three episodes worth of October Dance O' Dance tracks. It's gone FURTHER on sale since I bought mine. See this listing at SEARS.COM. http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_05792917000P

Mike had told me that the Olympian wasn't giving him any coverage. I noticed as much myself on searching their website for Halloween trick or treating locations/ haunted houses. http://www.theolympian.com/entertainment/story/632229.html

Many YouTube videos have a little box on the right that says "URL" and "Embed". If you select all the text in the Embed box, turn off rich-text editing, and paste that text into your post, it should display and play the video.

On Google video, there's a link with "+Video" in the box on the top right of the page - if you click that a window opens up with similar code you can copy and paste to embed the video.

If you want to do this with some other video you found on the web, you need to understand more about what's going on. You might start by going to YouTube, copying both the "URL" information and the "Embed" information and pasting them into a word processor. If you look at them for a minute, you'll see that the "URL" information is the same as what's in the address window of your browser when you are playing the video. If you look carefully at the Embed information, you'll find that URL information twice in it, but slightly altered. (The ?v= in the address window has been changed to /v/ and &hl=en&fs=1 has been added to the very end.) If you get to where you can play the other video, copy the URL information from the address window in your browser, replace the URL info in your sample of the embed tags from YouTube with the new URL info, check for those two alterations, and then paste the revised code into your post, it might work...

If you want or need to know more, I think you'll probably need to Google something like "embed video html" without the quotes. You'll get lots of tutorials about these tags and what each piece of them does. There are a lot of ways to do this, and some complications about what works or doesn't work with different browsers, though...

Best,
Thad

Some residents in Thurston County may mistakenly believe that they have the option to vote on Nov 4 at the same poll-site they used the last time they voted in a presidential election.

This year, for the first time ever in Thurston County, voting poll-sites will not be open on the day of a general/presidential election.

I have been aware that, since 2005, all local and state elections in Thurston County have been strictly by mail. What I was not clear about, until recently, was whether this would also be true in the general, presidential election. I started asking around and found that nearly every one of the dozen or so people I asked were not sure if, despite having received ballots by mail, there did not also remain the option of voting in person at a regular polling site on Nov 4.

(The question of voting in person on Nov 4 arose for me after reading an article by Robert Kennedy Jr. and Greg Palast in the current issue of Rolling Stone in which they advise that, whenever possible, we should vote in person rather than by mail. See the article here: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/23638322/block_the_vote/print

Desire Video wants to either build a Winco, or provide drive-thru adult entertainment. I hope it's the latter since strippers make good tips.

Which of you will be the first to come see me?

Fairness Doctrine: Something else America will get to look forward to IF Obama is elected. This is probably one of the worst ideas I have ever seen. Goes directly against the Free Speech Right we have in America. Basically if a talk radio show wants to talk against the killing of innocent babies (AKA Abortion) they would have to give equal time to the other side. If Sean Hannity wants to talk against Obama he would have to talk equally for Obama. This flies in the face of everything the Bill of Rights stands for. Just another thing we can look forward to. I can't wait.

What can we do in our community to beat the economic crisis?

Spend an evening with Francis Ayley, founder of North London LETS and president of Fourth Corner Exchange to find out how rethinking currency and debt can change your life. This event offers solutions to the growing economic problems that our country faces. After a 50-minute video titled Money as Debt (which skillfully explains the flaws of our current economic system), Francis will introduce a community currency called Life Dollars as part of the solution. Systems like Life Dollars are already in place and functioning throughout America and the rest of the world.

You can trade your Sound HOURs into Life Dollars. Community Currency is back, and it is here to stay. www.fourthcornerexchange.com
