PLEASE INFORM EVERYONE Emails with pictures of Osama Bin-Laden hanged are being sent and the moment that you open these emails your computer will crash and you will not be able to fix it! If you get an email along the lines of 'Osama Bin Laden Captured' or 'Osama Hanged' don't open the attachment. This e-mail is being distributed through countries around the globe, but mainly in the US and Israel .. Be considerate & send this warning to whomever you know. PLEASE FORWARD THIS WARNING AMONG FRIENDS, FAMILY AND CONTACTS: You should be alert during the next days: Do not open any message with an attached file called 'Invitation' regardless of who sent it. It is a virus that opens an Olympic Torch which 'burns' the whole hard disc C of your computer. This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should send this e-mail to all your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it. If you receive a mail called 'invitation', though sent by a friend, do not open it and shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst virus announced by CNN, it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever. This virus was discovered by McAfee, and there is no repair yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept. SEND THIS E-MAIL TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW

Okay, found this little timewaster online. Hey, EVERYONE can agree with shooting zombies right? Or are we going to get into touchy feely "undead have rights too you know" :-)

Play The Game Here

EDIT: Made it 8 days so far. The shotgun will get you killed, too slow to reload, good until the politicians, errr undead get too close. The revolver has the best likelyhood of a one shot zombie elemination...

I've found a new restaurant! I have a weakness for Chinese food, specifically a place that makes good almond fried chicken. Here's the story:

A few weeks ago some family called me and asked me to meet them at the new Chinese restaurant on 6th avenue. When I got there ( I was at work ) my family had already ordered for me, and wonder of wonders, they had ordered almond fried chicken. It was awesome! This is a huge plus for a restaurant in my book, but I suppose I should add a little more.

I've been back a few times since to also try out the grill side of the restaurant. The only thing I miss about living in Cheney, was the Mongonlian grill that they had in Spokane. If nobody has been to a restaurant like this, let me explain: You grab a bowl, pick out what you want from the little bar (chicken, beef, pork, noodles, crab, fish, peppers, and various other veggies) put on whatever cooking sauces you want (Sesame oil, garlic, chili oil, cooking wine, ginger, etc.) and take it up to the grill to watch them cook it for you. I'm easily amused, but I really enjoy watching this part. Afterward you get to put on teriyaki, soy, chilli, sesame seeds, whatever. It's good eating, imo.

The wait staff is incredibly nice, and I have yet to wait for seating. All you can eat grill lunch special is $6.95, and it tastes SO much better than fast food joints. If you aren't feeling that hungry, you can just order a Chinese entree. Alcohol appears to be served, but I've only been there for lunch during work, and have yet to try a drink.

My container of Tree Top 100% Juice Apple Grape has the slogan "Real Fruit From Real People" on the label.

Not "For Real People." Not "By Real people."

"From."

The illustration portrays an orchard, and in the middle are, yes, people. Three of them. With baskets. Baskets filled with ... ?

I shudder to think of it.

By the way, the juice is pretty good in spite of the slogan.

Origins

This is the story of a union. It concerns workers of all races and beliefs who came together with one single purpose: to achieve a better life for themselves and their families. It is the story of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union, known worldwide as the ILWU. The history of the ILWU, the record of its origins and traditions, is about workers who built a union that is democratic, militant and dedicated to the idea that solidarity with other workers and other unions is the key to achieving economic security and a peaceful world.

The origins of the ILWU lie in the longshore industry of the Pacific Coast – the work of loading and unloading ships’ cargoes. In the old days of clipper ships, sailings were frequently unscheduled and labor was often recruited at the last minute by shoreside criers calling: "Men along the shore!" – giving rise to the term "longshoremen." The work was brutal, conditions unsafe, employment irregular, and the pay too low to support a family.

The first longshore unions on the West Coast were founded in the 19th century. By 1902 the longshoremen were loosely affiliated with the American Federation of Labor’s International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA). But their ties to national headquarters were weak, and most returned or lost their charters within a few a years.

[via email]
The Longshore Caucus (like a Convention) adjourned today, Friday Feb. 8 but not before passing an antiwar resolution to shutdown all U.S. West Coast ports with a stop work meeting on May 1, 2008 for 8 hours to protest the Democrats' and Republicans' continuing to fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The resolution from Local 10 encountered vigorous debate. In the end the overwhelming consensus to take dock action to stop the war prevailed. As the President of Local 34 Richard Cavalli stated this resolution follows ILWU Local 10 and 34's successful Labor Conference to Stop the War held in San Francisco Oct. 20, 2007, as reported in the ILWU's newspaper, The Dispatcher.
A question has been raised about bringing up this decision to the local Olympia ILWU chapter.
