On Saturday, March 1, 2008 from 4-6pm, ConspiraZine features Russ Dizdar, author of the alarming and controversial book, The Black Awakening. Russ talks about the creation of cult programmed multiple personality sleepers or satanic super soldiers who are to be used for the New World Order agenda. Also presented is a narrative on gang or group stalking, which is a form of surveillance and harassment upon targeted individuals. We conclude with Clifford Carnicom discussing the devastating biological effects from chemtrails.

ConspiraZine can be heard on Free Radio Olympia at 98.5 FM or via mp3 stream at www.frolympia.org.

We all did the racism IAT and had some good conversation around it. Here's one for presidential candidates. This could be interesting. Take it and post your results in the comments.

Almost every week this is the "What's on the city council's plate this week" review. I don't cover everything, so if you want the full rundown, read the packet and agenda yourself.

Nothing much in the packet this week (maybe something about a "water plan" that I'll write about later, but it looks pretty daunting), except a little note from the "Committee of the Chairs" meeting on Tuesday night at 5p (report @ scribd):

There was preliminary discussion by and among 2007 Councilmembers about holding a Town Hall meeting on April 22 (Earth Day) at Olympia High School. The suggested topic was Climate Change/Sea Level Rise.

...

BACKGROUND: As part of the Council’s 2004 Open Government initiative, Councilmembers – at that time – committed to holding two Town Hall meetings each year on topics identified by the City Council.

A preliminary date and theme for April 22, 2008 was identified by the 2007 Council. No additional planning activity has occurred, and no meeting space has been reserved. The Olympia Center is not available on April 22.

It looks like they don't have anything to talk to us about. So, outside of sea leve rise, can anyone think of anything else they'd like to talk to the city council about?

These are images made of the CAPCOM (Capital Communications) calls to 9-11 dispatch, showing who called and from what cell, where that cell phone was at the time of the call, and what dispatch did in relation to the call over the course of the evening. Enjoy!

In the past six months we have heard much discussion on Congressman Brian Baird and his public support for the “surge” military strategy in Iraq. Many people have disagreed with his decision and some accuse him of not appropriately representing his constituents. Well, it looks like the question “Is Congressman Baird representing the citizens of the 3rd Congressional District?” will get it’s real test this summer and fall.

Ms. Cheryl A. Crist is challenging Congressman Baird for the Democratic nomination for the 3rd Congressional. On her campaign website, she lists her positions on a number of issues including:

New High In U.S. Prison Numbers
Growth Attributed To More Stringent Sentencing Laws

By N.C. Aizenman
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, February 29, 2008; A01

More than one in 100 adults in the United States is in jail or prison, an all-time high that is costing state governments nearly $50 billion a year and the federal government $5 billion more, according to a report released yesterday.

With more than 2.3 million people behind bars, the United States leads the world in both the number and percentage of residents it incarcerates, leaving far-more-populous China a distant second, according to a study by the nonpartisan Pew Center on the States.

David Smith-Ferri is a writer who has published a collection of poems about his experiences traveling in Iraq. He has traveled to Iraq with Voices in the Wilderness, as well as other organizations, in order to bring some measure of relief to people who are suffering.

Last night he was in Olympia. The Olympia FOR sponsored a speaking engagement at the Artisan's cafe. David read several poems and told many stories about his experience working with wounded Iraqi refugees, both in Iraq itself and in neighboring countries (Jordan mostly).

The proceeds from his book, Battlefield Without Borders: Iraq Poems, are going to help with the Direct Aid Initiative (DAI), which serves Iraqi families who have extreme unmet medical needs. $12 from the sale of his book goes toward DAI, while Mr. Smith-Ferri keeps only $2 of the total.

You can find out more about DAI, and make a secure online contribution by visiting www.electroniciraq.net.
