What is trust? More importantly, in regards to this event...What is a land trust? A land trust is a not-for-profit organization, organized to preserve and protect the natural and man-made environment by, among other techniques, creating conservation easements that restrict the use of real property. Many activist, not-for-profit and progressive causes need a space to have their meetings, their events and their classes while preserving the land from multinational corporate interests. Perhaps its time that we all come together and in an open forum and discuss our united options for the future.

Below you will find an article about the 100 million dollars that is allocated for the Olympia area in land trusts for the year 2009: http://community.livejournal.com/freeschoollove/5125.html

I think I've foiund a new downtown hangout.  Mainly pop in to suck on their wifi but have been enjoying the place and their menu.  And baked goods...  mmm...  cupcakes.  Just finished hearing a woman from Canada play.  Good, nothing fabulous but for Thursday night background music while doing stuff online, worth listening to.  Note, I'm not a huge music fan so others may have a different idea than me.  Good stuff and she got my pocket money, so that counts for something in my book.

Wow. I had my camera. The weather was nice. And I got presentable pics. Gotta love this little sub $100 junker. BTW, at the bottom, the last two images are some I took playing with lighting, backgrounds, and posed objects last night on the boat. It's a gun. So if you don't like it, don't look. I've formatted the post for those who are offended by such inanimate objects should be able to avoid it and still see the stuff from my downtown walk. Thanks for looking!

EDIT:  Not sure why I tossed in pics of my .45 except I put a lot of effort into getting some good closeups and liked how they turned out.  I'm changing them to links since they were commented on...

In no particular order....

No Time left for you.... no more cheap gas downtown.

Graphiti... or frustrated art?

I asked and recieved permission to take this woman's pic. I told her I wanted to put in on a local blog site. I also tipped her some money for the pic and her music. Angry, frustated playing style. She was/is outside The Reef.

Anyone notice the new paint job on the Reef? Makes it look nicer. Batteries died so will get some more and take some pics later today. I wonder if they improved their fries too? :-)

This may be the most extravagant party favor I've ever given, and I had toyed with the idea of approaching the manager to get a bulk discount, but I found them on sale today at 2 for $1!

Eighteen Tubs of Whipped Topping

I'll take them out of the freezer tomorrow around lunchtime.

Please RSVP to reserve your pie-in-the-face and receive your nacho assignment: 888-2729 or jusbytheclown at yahoo dot com

p.s. I also got a case of Henry's Belgian Style Wheat 'flavored beer with natural coriander orange flavor'

The mission of Bread and Roses is to serve, in love, the homeless, marginalized, and low-income of Thurston County.

Bread and Roses has been active in Olympia for over a quarter of a century.

B.R.A.C.
At the Bread and Roses Advocacy Center, advocates serve as friends and guides while assisting individuals in navigating the social service system, gain housing, and develop an income. BRAC also helps to meet basic needs (including laundry vouchers, bus passes, hygiene items, mail and telephone services, and assistance in obtaining state ID) for anywhere between 80 and 130 people per day.

Women’s Guesthouse
The Women’s Guesthouse offers 6 beds for single homeless women and 2 rooms for single women with children. It is a warm and nurturing transitional housing community for the women, who are working to stabilize their lives and prepare for the future.

Father Ray Bourgeois is a Roman Catholic Priest and the founder of the human rights organization, School of Americas Watch [4/10/2008 update: SOA Watch website currently blocked, apparently by Google]. You have several opportunities to visit with Father Bourgeois today, April 10th, in Olympia.
From the SOA Watch website:
SOA Watch is an independent organization that seeks to close the US Army School of the Americas, under whatever name it is called, through vigils and fasts, demonstrations and nonviolent protest, as well as media and legislative work.

On November 16, 1989, six Jesuit priests, their co-worker and her teenage daughter were massacred in El Salvador. A U.S. Congressional Task Force reported that those responsible were trained at the U.S. Army School of the Americas (SOA) at Ft. Benning, Georgia.

In 1990 SOA Watch began in a tiny apartment outside the main gate of Ft. Benning. While starting with a small group, SOA Watch quickly drew upon the knowledge and experience of many in the U.S. who had worked with the people of Latin America in the 1970's and 80's.

i dont know about oly blog, its main function seems to bore folks. no one seems to catch the real news that sometimes gets posted. instead people just kinda bandwagon on to certain issues or, on being i guess the word is an i-troll. as to actually promoting stuff or real serious content most people just post cute little videos they got from u tube or some such or, rehashing issues to death (ala' evergreen brouhaha cop, student riot). i dont really know yet as even though i had an account for a while my access to computers was and is still limited but improving everyday. maybe with more perusal of this medium i will see beyond the banality that seems to infect this medium. just want to see if you are still all thinking rational monkeys and not just punching buttons like those one guys writing the complete books of shakespear.
