Bert asks:

What causes someone to act out in this way? Is it a cry for help? Is it an attempt to get attention?

Here's the whole story up until a few weeks ago, told in first person.

Seems like a slow decline of physical and mental health, to say the least (this isn't at all the worst of it):

One month later, while still out from work and recovering from a major surgery, i ended up losing my gallbladder due to the narcotics i was given apparently building up and crystalizing my gallbladder. It is unusual for a 28 year old male to have this issue, and the MD's felt this was a side affect of a sugery we all agreed i needed to live. This month, while in massive pain from holes in my chest and side, unable to stand straight, in so much pain i was literally blacking out 5-10 times a day waiting for them to determine what now was wrong with my body, was hands down, the most unpleasant month of my life. I wouldn't wish such a month on ANYONE.

Jim Anderson (a CHS teacher) over at decrobilia has all the details:

Students came into class, breathless with excitement.

"A guy in a dress was in front of the school, waving a Taser around," one said.

"He was wearing a trench coat," another chimed in, "with purple gloves and pink shoes."

"They were red boots," said another.

"No, pink rubber boots," a fourth said.

"He was casting some kind of magic spell over us," said another.

The police eventually caught up with the guy, who apparently gave up pretty quickly, but this incident is giving me trouble because of the assailant's posts (now unpublished) here at Olyblog and a couple other places.

According to this blog post, from what I can tell, on the guy's blog, he was pissed off at any number of things, including Capitol students.

Apparently, this is the same guy that left several threatening posts here last night. Another docent took the posts down soon after they went up, but the contents are pretty troubling given the incident this morning. For the curious, they're still available over on the guy's other blog.

Just a couple of thoughts:

1. This morning at CHS could have been much worse.

2. I let a few people know what I saw on the unpublished posts and at the other two blogs, one of whom is a police officer, but I feel now I could have done more. Even though I didn't notice the posts until well after the incident, I was still reacting too slowly. The posts indicated imminent violence, and I was slow.

This workshop is a hands-on event where each participant will create a basic shaman medicine bag. A medicine bag is an ancient energy tool, once used only by the spiritual leaders and healers of a community. This is an introductory event open to everyone, for beginning or master levels.
