Flickr user Maxismailov has a few photos of the weekend's air show, which was held at the Port of Olympia's Tumwater Airfield. Check 'em out:

On charging Bush with murder as was discussed on the locally popular radio show "Democracy Now" by a famous author whom is also an authority figure on war crimes and the host who was once the Graduation Speaker at TESC: Retroactive, symbolic, half in the past. You trace the inhumanity all the way back to the invention of gun powder. Before gunpowder, wars were settled in the nude with swords and shields on designated battlefields between designated participants and blessed by priests/teachers/shamans/druids just prior to battles on the battlefields. That was the US Western European way of life and the Native American way of life until gun powder became cheap good legal followed by roads for land pirates. That's why we use designated drivers- so that innocents survive to keep producing the women and children.

Finished sorting the last of my pics today. I took these while I was thinking about condos in downtown. I honestly think I could live with them, but that is my take. Anyway I have to remind myself sometimes of the beauty that is Olympia. Having lived in the Puget Sound nearly all of my life it is so easy to get used to these views and the scenery around us.

A parkour video filmed June 13, 2008 at the capitol campus is online, I'm not directly embedding it here because of possible coarse language concerns, but it is worth checking out.

I found a Washington Parkour site and I notice the forums include Olympia folks. Can anyone out there tell us more about parkour in Olympia?

Taken from the site:

The essence of parkour can be stated simply: it is the art of overcoming obstacles as swiftly and efficiently as possible using only your body. The fundamentals include running, jumping, and climbing and we build on these fundamentals to improve our ability to pass over, under, around and through obstacles with more complex movements. We are a community of traceurs (parkour practitioners) who connect online and in person to train, discuss and share knowledge about the world of parkour. We practice in the urban and natural environments and encourage creativity, safety, self-discipline, and respect for the community in the practice of parkour.

Guess some vandal set a fire to this small observation deck on Westbay Drive. Didn't know anything about it, until I went to use up some of my new batteries...

My batteries conked out before I could get more pics, and I had no spares with me (was going to buy some today and did...)

So here is the repaired area. The "closed" sign is still up, but the gate is open, and the trail looks open for business to me. I put some "before" pictures of the damaged area below the current pics.

This Sunday, June 15th 2008 Editorial Board of the Olympian officially came unhinged. In an editorial titled End the blight, approve the height they went on a hysterical name-calling rant worthy of, if not inspired by, their on-line comments cesspool. Interestingly enough, the comments sections on both the editorial and the front page article were 90% anti-Triway.

Y'all know how I feel about the Triway proposal. I feel there is there is no need to critique this unpaid advertisement for Triway as written by Oly2012 for it is so over the top it is embarrassing. I suspect it will backfire on it's authors. Weigh in on the editorial and reportage if you's like but I think it would be fun for people to suggest alternative to the End the Blight, Approve the Height cheer leading chant. Here's a couple from the Olympian's comments section

I've never been good with rhyming and poetry and stuff but I'm confident other Olybloggers are. Let's see your whit in verse.

Edit. 16 June 08.

I have willingly removed two offensive sentences at the suggestion of a docent. The sentences were equating prostitutes to the Olympian editorial board.

Has anyone heard anything about the street fair this year? This is the fair where they block off the street in front of the Capitol Theater and people can rent booths to sell basically whatever catches their fancy. The DNA website says that it's supposed to be today, but I haven't seen any advertising to that effect.
