More evidence of rampant police misconduct in violation of the First Amendment. There is no justification for this behavior:

The September issue of Works in Progress (WIP) is on the stands. There are good articles in it. I read the 99 reasons Not to rezone, and I was impressed by the depth and breadth of consideration by community members.

It's pretty awesome. One of the reasons, number 83, really had me for a while, because I thought it said that the Planning Commission had only 5% of the public comments when it deliberated on July 21st. I did a major double-take and was relieved to see that it was actually that the Commission had not received 5% of the communications due to a forwarding error. Part of the 5% included a letter from the State Department of Archeology and Historical Preservation.

It makes me wonder if there were other errors like this that have gone unnoticed.

Well the WIP is on the stands (or counters, or bookshelves, or wherever) so go on and pick up a copy for yourself.

The September issue isn't online quite yet (as of Sep. 1st), but it will appear at the WIP website, Works in Progress, when it does.

peace,

bert

Teens, help the library “bling out” a book cart for entry into the Unshelved online comic strip contest. On Friday, September 12th from 4-6pm, eat donuts, brainstorm with librarians and vote on a book cart theme.

The following Friday, September 19, the team will deck out the cart at an after-hours library pizza party. Check out the Web site at www.unshelved.com for more information and prizes.

RSVP appreciated. Please call (360) 352-0595 by September 10 if you plan to attend.

Pictures of the 2006 and 2007 bookcarts can be found here:
