I am new to this blogging - and probably won't spend much more time in this realm. However I just feel the need to comment on something in your testimony that struck a very sore spot for me personally.

Sep 27 2008 - 6:00pm Sep 27 2008 - 8:00pm Hello fellow Olybloggers, I have been working especially hard the past few weeks in preparation for the grand opening of my new holistic healthcare center in east Olympia, A Sound Body & Mind. I'm putting the final touches on the office in the coming week and want to invite you all to my open house party on Saturday September 27th. From 6 to 8pm, the doors will be wide open. We will have tasty things for you to munch and sip as you check out the new clinic. Obviously, I'm very excited about it, as I'm hoping you will be when you see it. There is no need to RSVP, just stop by whenever you like. The address is 2747 Pacific Ave SE Suite A-12 Olympia WA 98501. There is also a map link on my website. I hope to see you all there.

The economy is getting sort of weird. I was up at Alderwood Mall yesterday, and you would've thought it was the Christmas season. No parking places, people jamming the walkways, traffic was crazier than usual. The shoppers looked unhappy. Spend now while we can. It was kind of a grim and quiet frenzy. In these hard economic times I have a small suggestion on how not to spend money. Over the years people have given me wallets as a gift for birthdays, Christmas, etc. I just throw them in a drawer and then pick one after the old wallet wears out. This has been going on for years. Finally, after my last wallet went through the wash, I was down to the very final one in the drawer. It is small and has a strange color. Something about this last wallet always made me overlook it and pick another whenever wallet harvesting time came. I've been using this one for a couple months. Today another OlyBlogger saw me use it and she asked to examine it, noting the unusual texture. Then she found the label that says, "Made in Korea, Genuine Eel Skin." Have you ever seen the Tin Drum? Eeeew! Eel! I think I'm going to be sick! From now on I'll think twice before reaching for my wallet and extracting a credit card or cash. In the long run this should prevent me from impulsive buying.

Ballet Arts Olympia is giving it another month to see if they can make a go of it. They're hoping September has been a busy month and that folks will soon flock to sign up their kids for dance instruction. If you or anyone you know is interested call Suzi @ 943-7781. As I wrote earlier my daughter has spent over half her life dancing here and it has been a consistently good experience.

Sep 25 2008 - 7:00pm [via email] You are all encouraged to come out to Traditions Café on Thursday, Sept 23rd at 7 PM to hear Dr. Charles Tauber speak. He is the Head of Mission of the Coalition for Work With Psychotrauma and Peace in Vukovar, Croatia. His work there as a psychiatrist with ex-soldiers and citizens in a post-conflict area will give us some insights on what we can do with soldiers returning from Iraq. |
