The final presidential debate will be a hot dog eating contest.
» At last we will see who is more full of it.

Leading up to the Michigan trip I was getting e-mails from the Toronto Clown Festival that included interviews with the performers. Here are their responses to one particular question I also needed to address in writing a business plan:
"Anything static and method-centric runs the risk of remaining enclosed within the circle of those who understand it. Theatre is a tough medium as it is, so to brandish an obstacle like this where only those who do it support it may not be the most clever thing to do. Sure clowns in theatre are relevant, but to stick to specific clown-theatre smells of limitation which is maybe not so relevant." - Nicolas M. Di Gaetano

Potato Tomato
» I eat a lot of potatoes, and why not? This is, after all, the international year of the potato. The potato, like the tomato, of which it often appears in song, comes in a variety of colors. I find the best way to prepare potatoes is to slice them (usually using gold potatoes), steam them, and mix them when cooked with salsa and nutritional yeast. Serve with cabbage salad with oil free honey mustard dressing. I can eat this every day. Ginsberg Speaks Allen Ginsberg told me once I had a cherubic beard. Thirteen years later I still can’t grow a proper beard. ...I think Allen cursed me. So you ask, what the hell is a cherub anyway? “According to the editors of the Jewish Encyclopedia, Early Israelite tradition conceived of the cherubim as guardians of the Garden of Eden, being devoid of human feelings, and holding a duty both to represent the gods and to guard sanctuaries from intruders, in a comparable way to an account found on Tablet 9 of the inscriptions found at Nimrud. In this view, cherubim, like the shedu, were probably originally depictions of storm deities, especially the storm winds.” - wikipedia

The Community Build-a-Bike Project lives! Rescued once again from the obscurity of the ages (I am inspired by dr's blog entries), B-A-B has found a new location at a private residence behind the Pit Stop Grocery - the corner of Boulevard Rd. & 18th Ave. And, re-establishing a yearly event which has recently languished due to lack of participation, we will be holding a raffle to raise funds and awareness. The raffle will take place on Saturdays, 10-4, Oct. 25th(Ralph's Thriftway), Nov. 1st(Farmer's Mkt.), 8th(Eastside Co-op) & 15th(Bayview). Those wishing to contribute time, money, or bikes can contact me at: tezzer1@msn.com. We especially need help in delivery and pick-up of raffle supplies, including bike, to and from sites. BIKES FOR EVERYONE! |
