FYI: Although I have a few things to add, I am not able to properly post comments at this time. I am getting, "Access Denied."

[okay! I just tried to post a comment but was denied again. both accounts, 'Bert' and 'Robert Whitlock' are affected.]

Just want to let everyone know that there appear to be some hiccups with the site. I am having problems posting, particularly posting comments, and I am pretty sure that I am not the only one. So bear with it. I am sure that these problems will get worked out.

In the mean-time, since OlyBlog is a volunteer run, user supported mechanism, please consider hitting the little orange button that says "make a donation."

Ron Suskind, The Way of the World: A Story of Truth and Hope in an Age of ExtremismWow, this is damning. Is it true? Did members of the Bush Administration order intelligence agencies to create false reports in order to justify invading Iraq? A lot of people have been saying that's the case (for a long time). Maybe we can get closer to the truth as a result of this Congressional Probe. If it's true, that allegations that Bush Administration officials manipulated intelligence in order to suit their private interests in a war of choice, then it certainly gives support to the local anti-war advocates who have been working so hard, and who have invested so much in protecting our troops from reckless foreign policy and the abuses of the Bush Administration. Hopefully Congress will do what is right based on the finding of this probe, and if justified, take appropriate action to protect American Soldiers from the alleged abuses of members of the Bush Administration. Have you seen Stevenl's collection of license plate numbers? It's amazing. I am also a license plate analyzer. I like to find funny acronyms and such in license plates. Apparently the vehicles of a lot of locals have been assigned plates with the UML letters. Stevenl, a long time OlyBlog contributor and a tireless investigator, has been keeping close track of these suspicious UMLs. I wonder if he has tracked the majority of the 1,000 Washington State UMLs as they are roaming the streets and thoroughfares of Thurston County. I think of them driving around now.

Do you notice anything strange in the community? Well then do like Stevenl, and report it here!

Here's a link to the most recent UMLs, posted just today. "Hot off the presses" so to speak (or maybe "hot off your processor"). If you haven't checked them out, then here's your notice.

UML18 Part 1 (This is part one of four.) Enjoy!

The Olympia-Rafah Mural Project is happening. Stop by the corner of Capitol Way and State Avenue to see for yourself.

by dreamsjung

I also posted some pictures from a brief visit to the mural. I even saw mural making (preparation) in action. link here

Check out the official project web-page. Break the Silence: The Olympia-Rafah Mural Project

"Know Olympia?" is a game developed by enpen where secret and esoteric locations were photographed and then people were challenged to identify, or guess about, the location. Does anyone else miss this intriguing game?

That was weird. OlyBlog was down all day yesterday. I wonder why. I am trying to imagine life without OlyBlog. Oh, the horror!

Considering the environmental and social problems with oil, I'd like to consider ways to reduce and eventually eliminate societal dependence on oil. The following is relevant. Not using bottled water is also one way to support the troops.
Take the pledge to break the bottled water habit.

[from the water.newdream.org website:]

Tips on taking this pledge:

The first step is making sure you have a non-toxic reusable water bottle to use on the go. Find a few options on Conscious Consumer.

You should also find out about the quality of tap water in your area. In much of the country it's just as, if not more, healthy than some bottled water.

Since most municipal water is as safe or safer than bottled water, the vast majority of Americans can then safely fill up their water bottles straight from the tap. If you're not that fortunate, you can also find home water filters on Consumer Consumer. Finally, if you're not sure about your local water quality, give your local water utility a shout and get the facts before investing—perhaps unnecessarily—in a water filter.

Regardless of whether your local situation requires you to buy a filter or just a non-toxic reusable bottle, you'll save hundreds of dollars AND help the planet when you break the water bottle habit!
