I've been lazy not posting this over here (I've had my reasons), but over at Better South Sound we're trying to get a discussion going on municipal wifi and why it might be a good idea for Olympia. From my point of view, if its a good idea for Philadelphia, its a good idea for Olympia. Here are some posts to get you started:
