Ridester is a service that looks to become far more valuable as the number of people using it grows. In a community such as Olympia where we have so many environmentally minded citizens, this seems like a potentially natural fit, and while any initial attempt may (probably will) go unanswered, this, or something like it, makes a lot of sense to me for facilitation of ride-sharing.

Yes, I like this. I think
Submitted by Mike on Sun, 01/14/2007 - 9:15am.I think the NYT had an article about the manners and customs - no talk of politics or religion, don't touch the radio - for the ridesters. Just an impromptu ride-sharing solution in metro areas.
My own life style is anarchistic enough that I would have trouble with Ridester. My schedule to show up at my legal contracting gig is pretty variable, but I would be able to do the impromptu ride-sharing if it developed here. It's on the line of urban self sufficiency and more on natural than corporate time cycles.
