The Poynter Institute, as a result of an August 2006 Conference, recently constructed an Online Ethics Wiki. As the audience is assumed to be professional online journalists much of the language seems inapplicable to a volunteer based citizen journalism operation; however, given that many of the issues we've already run into on OlyBlog are addressed if the assumption changes to include anyone reporting online, I think this is an excellent point of discussion for citizen journalism as a whole, and OlyBloggers in particular.

OlyBlog issue re-cap?
Submitted by chad360 on Thu, 02/01/2007 - 2:48am.Ew! > I squeal < Can we list the issues [with OlyBlog] so far?...
I think what Rick wants is a community forum, not a drupal-tech 'blog...
Online forum software?
Here is what I want to do (any one down?)
Get a TCTV show, use KAOS, and OlyBlog to do stuff in real time:
a call-in computer "fix it" tech tip hour, simulacast on KAOS, taking comments via OlyBlog--
a "blog roll" where someone reads the stuff on OlyBlog each week for blind folks--
put TCTV codes into some olyblog posts, like for local events--
...so, is this ever gonna happen here? I know it is "just a blog", but I wonder what it "means" for us to have this now, such a deep thought....time for a late-nite bike ride! ttyl Oly-folk

I think your ideas seem
Submitted by Norm on Thu, 02/01/2007 - 7:26pm.I think your ideas seem interesting.
I think one of the bigger things on the blog is this:
Is Olyblog a community idea-share/community blog/community forum vs. a community news entity?
This is my view of the issue.
