I love Marmite, yes I do
Yes I do
I love Marmite, yes I do
Yes I do
It might change the color of my poo
But I love Marmite
Yes
I
Do!
(the family song [by the guys only] on this marvelous product)

My brother recently gave me a large jar of Marmite after he returned from a trip to England. If you have never tried it, I can tell you it is one of those things you either love or hate.

Also, does anyone know where Marmite can be purchased in the Olympia area? I understand the westside Safeway carried it for awhile, but I don't see any there now.

Also, Marmite hurts no one, unlike using Mrs. Butterworth.Marmite! Marmite! I love Marmite!

Try Top Foods

On the west side. I know they have it, I've seen it there recently.

I was introduced to Marmite by some Australians. They said it was something like a national food. It might have been an old jar of Marmite but the taste, something like industrial crud that has a strange combination of sweet and bitter tastes, that left me retching.

lol

After reading this I'm left feeling enticed.

I just had a healthy dose of Marmite on toast. Great stuff! Try it and give us a review, Norm.

If I run across any I will

If I run across any I will write one up for you. Only cause I think you are an outstanding guy though. I'm actually going on my first real vacation in 9 years, so I'll have a rather large review to work on.

Stay tuned

You can also get it at the

You can also get it at the Eastside Co-Op.

Thanks yogi woman!

They do have it. Only three jars left! Last night I used Marmite as a chip dip. Heaven!

Marmite is for hairballs, yes it is

Once again, OlyBlog is first with the breaking news. Marmite really is a form of Petromalt. Good for cats with hairballs, a rip off for we humans (a.k.a. "suckers").

»

I have guzzled Petromalt. I

I have guzzled Petromalt. I knew Petromalt. Petromalt was a friend of mine. Petromalt, you're no Marmite! You are two very different products. With Petromalt, I cough up furballs, like any other normal person. It has a slightly rancid aftertaste. With Marmite, I am simply filled with the Vitamin-B goodness of that incredibly tasty product. No comparison.

My cat and I love Marmite!

My cat goes nuts for brewer's yeast! When I buy it in bags from the Co-op, I have to be careful not to leave it out, because if I do, she will rip it open and consume it all.  If we run out of cat food, we give her yeast, and she is very happy.  Not Marmite, though -- it's too expensive for a cat.

I like Marmite on rice with soy sauce.

Marmite

I've never tasted Marmite, but I once tried a product from Australia called Vegemite. It was really awful. I wonder if Marmite is like Vegemite?
»

If, after eating Vegemite,

If, after eating Vegemite, you run up a wall, across the ceiling, and back down a wall several times in a joyous frenzy, then yes, Vegemite would be like Marmite. But from your report, Vegemite was merely awful-- hence, unlike Marmite.

Marmite scandal

Exactly how much are you being paid to promote this stuff? And are you certain that the Marmite you are given is -only- Marmite, without any unusual psychoactive additions?
»

It's working...

Ever since Marmite's shill, stevel, started this thread, I have had Marmite on the brain.... and on toast, on rice, on chicken, even on baked potatoes.  Are they paying you in Marmite, Steve?  Can I have some?
»

Shill exposed

Aha! Janet has proof!

(Marmite on chicken, how do you prepare it? I really hate Marmite but lately I've been dreaming about it, maybe I can just try a little......I can always stop any time I want to.....)
»

Nothing fancy...

I just slather it on cold leftover chicken.

Have you read the nutrition information on the jar? (It's hard, because it's so tiny.)  There are 3 grams of protein in a half teaspoon of Marmite!! And only 11 calories.  It's seems almost impossible.  Marmite is too good to be true!

Marmite is people.

Marmite is people.
»

Yes, but people with good

Soylent green is Peee-pulYes, but people with good taste! Here are the ingredients on my jar that is sitting in my hot little hand at this very moment: Yeast Extract, Salt, Vegetable Extract, Niacin, Thiamin, Spice Extracts, Riboflavin, Folic Acid, Celery Extract, Vitamin B12, People. Just kidding about the last one. I wish I was a paid shill for Marmite. Although I would normally shunnnnn any sort of commercial endorsement, I would gladly accept pay in order to shout to the world what I feel in my heart: Marmite rules, man!

Marmite Ice Cream Truck

I really like the idea of having a converted Isetta serve as a neighborhood ice cream truck, blaring out some Scott Joplin tune alerting all the children to run and grab their Marmite Popsicles!!!

Marmite has a love or hate option. I want to apply for the position of Pacific Northwest spokesperson.

Thanks Summerisle

For the Top Foods suggestion. They have a large supply. But grab a bottle from the back, the ones in front had passed the expiration date. Also, Top Foods shelves Marmite uncomfortably close to Mrs. Butterworth.

Trojan Horse Marmite

I have found that eating Marmite on toast with strawberry jam has an interesting effect. At first, the strawberry taste overwhelms the tastbuds. But is it fleeting as the wholesome goodness of Marmite catches up and is the taste that lingers longest. This might be a good way for Marmite lovers to introduce Marmite to the uninitiated or even the "I do not like green eggs and ham" type of skeptic.

Hot Tea

If your getting tired of trying to get out that last little bit of Marmite from the jar. Don't worry for a fair price I won't let it go to waste. Theres nothing better than pouring some hot water into the jar and drinking a nice hot glass of Marmite Tea. ummmmm refreshing!
»

As a matter of fact

I just did that very thing last weekend. And I'm now a better person for it. I have a special shelf reserved for my fresh new jar of Marmite. The jar sits on a little wood pedestal and is surrounded by four tiny ceramic cats playing instruments, serenading the savory treat. You might think I'm kidding, but I'm not.

Marmite Google Poll

"I love Marmite" 9590 hits

"I hate Marmite" 7240 hits

"When I eat Marmite I think of Yogi Bear gnawing on the severed limb of a tourist at Jellystone National Park while Ranger Smith is screaming in horror"  0 hits

I believe the results here speak volumes. I'm still waiting for the Marmite people to contact my people so I can start my Marmite sponsored Marmite tour across America.

Hey Marmite fans!

I just tried mixing Marmite with Stouffer's microwave macaroni and cheese. Delicious! And, oddly, this delectable dish was suggested to me by a confirmed Marmite hater.

Meanwhile, here's another great Marmite clip.

Some people

don't like Marmite. I don't know why, but they don't. All the more left over for me!
»

New recipe

Put two frozen waffles in toaster, lightly toast. Spread mayo on one, Marmite on the other. Cook one frozen chicken patty in the microwave, then place between the waffles as in making a sandwich. Then consume and enjoy. Man, this is the good life!

Squeezy Marmite

Someone who really loves stevenl arranged for me to acquire a wonderful thing. I've just had my first taste of Marmite from their new squeezy container. First off, I can tell it will be easier to use up the Marmite with this no-mess device. The Marmite tastes just the same, but the texture is lighter. Now I can draw faces on my toast using this new squeezy bottle.
»

Squeeze!

You know what is really great about squeezy Marmite?  It can go directly from the container to your mouth without any annoying eating utensils!
»

Where tradition and innovation meet

Some Marmite purists do not like the squeezy concept. For them, part of the Marmite experience includes the thick brown glass jar, the dipping of the knife to extract the very last of the condiment of pleasure, the strain of turning the yellow plastic lid when excess Marmite has hardened it tight.

I am now almost done with my first ever container of squeezy Marmite. And the last remaining Marmite just won't squeeze out, so like the traditionalist I open the Marmite-glued lid and work to liberate the rest that it might meet the glory of my tastebuds. So the old ways have not entirely vanished.
