I'd think that a natural tidal zone would attract lots of nature watchers, and also be a nice park/preserve like Nisqually.
Tourism is cool; you get to meet folks and show off the beauty of the South Sound, and with the bike trails and local parks like Mt. Rainer, this place could be hopping if promoted the right way (eco-tourism).
Imagine a tidal river basin to watch each day RIGHT IN DOWNTOWN! How freaking cool is that?
