I think that the City of Olympia should use RSS technology to push info that the City wants to provide, facilitating a convenient exchange of information by enabling digital outlets like OlyBlog, neighborhood associations, and feed subscribers, to access content in a timely and accessible manner.

The City of Olympia creates volumes of content, and re-posting information found in Adobe Acrobat files, emails, and embedded in web-pages, can consume alot of time.

Open-source technology is well developed in our community, and I encourage local practitioners to support an open-access model for information technology policy at the City of Olympia.

-any thoughts?

How hard?

I know what you're talking about and I've set up a few page2RSS feeds for my own use on the city's website. I don't think this would be very hard for them to do.

Thanks Emmett, I really appreciate your input...

...I'm an outsider looking in when it comes to high tech web stuff, so thanks for sharing your experience.
