David Rauh from Mixx96 is heading up this awesome project. The gist of it is that local artists can get an honorarium for arting-up a bench in downtown. The press release is here, the request for proposals is here, and the application is here. The downside is that it's only for five benches right now, but I guess we could always press for more in the future. Press.... would that be a bench press?

Just to help clear up the confusion for you, I was hoping you would follow through on your idea of the latter rather than the former. At any rate, my bad for assuming that you would actually be here to contribute something other than snide or negative remarks, maybe it was the aerosol fumes.

We're very excited and looking forward to some great proposals from Olympia's amazing artist talent pool! I hope we're doing a good enough job getting the word out to those interested.
I also wanted to point out that this is a project of the Olympia PBIA. I'm a member of the PBIA Advisory Board, which recommended this project to the city of Olympia. The city council must approve our proposals to spend the ratepayer's money.
The only connection to Mixx96 is that it's my regular job (I'm co-owner/GM)and, of course, I used the copier, etc. The "gang" at Mixx 96 appreciated the shout-out in any case.
