'Street of Dreams' homes burn

Seattle PI

WOODINVILLE -- Explosive devices were found inside multimillion-dollar show homes that burned in a suburb north of Seattle Monday, fire officials said. Authorities also found a spray-painted sign purportedly left by a radical environmental group at the scene.
Any thoughts about this? Especially with the current trial of Briana Waters going on in Tacoma?

Hopefully the people who did this will be caught and prosecuted.

One of the great non sequiturs of the left is that, if the free market doesn't work perfectly, then it doesn't work at all-- and the government should step in.

In the vast septic tank of

In the vast septic tank of the Olympian's on line comment section I was pleased to see written under aliases I associate with RW Moonbatism were speculations about developers torching the unoccupied houses for insurance money.

makes sense...

...considering the recent implosion of the housing market. Although I don't know if high end homes, or homes in that region, have been affected by the bursting bubble.

These houses weren't selling

From the Seattle Times, March 03:

Open houses had been held at the development throughout the winter, he said, without incident, although none of the properties had sold. One house did have a pending-sale offer, Lundberg said.

I don't see how it can help Briana

with her trial.

It doesn't.  The jury is

It doesn't.  The jury is still deliberating the outcome of her case that wrapped last week.

EDIT:  Jury deliberates another day...

What does it have to do with her trial?

And why would the jury take these fires into account while deliberating?

I understand that the court of public opinion, well at least a few haters out there, think it's just easier to believe that all things are connect, but really, if this has any bearing on her verdict, then there has been a miscarriage of justice.

the road not taken...

...I have compassion for folks involved with this incident and the complex ethical & moral issues that surround ecology, having almost taken a similar path early on...

While the arson(s) grieve me, I have fearful respect of the powers of the FBI & the DHS.

Well,

There's no prima-facie evidence linking to ELF at this point. Really anybody could have started the fire and deflected blame to the ELF. There's too many weird quirks to the story of that housing development for me to immediately start saying ELF did it and that's it. I don't know, I'm just thinking there may be more to it than the easy answer that's in front of us.

Plenty of neighbors were unhappy with the development
