A 4-session experience at Olympia Zen Center with a fully trained and ordained Zen Roshi, in a lovely natural setting, training in Zen meditation, other Zen practices, Starting April 2nd and spanning 2 weekday evenings and 2 Saturdays culminating in an all day retreat, April 12th. A great opportunity for those who are interested to experience Zen practice, meet other Zen students, and to slow yourself down a notch or two as the birds once again begin to sing you awake in the mornings. The 2008 Thurston County Republican Convention will be this Saturday, April 12th. The convention will be held at Tumwater High School, 700 Israel Road SW, Tumwater. Registration starts at 8:30 am with "opening ceremonies" starting at 9:00 am.

We will select delegates to the Washington State Republican Convention, finalize our County Platform, and hear from statewide and local candidates. Guests are welcome to attend the convention. The entrance fee for all delegates, alternates, and guests is $10.00. This fee is to cover expenses associated with the precinct caucuses and county convention.

Jake's on 4th Drag Auction with Busty Palmer and the Jakettes!

One of our most highly attended and fun events is coming up this Saturday at Jake's on 4th in downtown Olympia. Show begins at 7 p.m.

This year's auction table includes everything from trinkets and rides with a competitive rowing crew to original signed domestic partnership legislation and even classes to learn how to ride motorcycles!

Thanks to Jake's on 4th for hosting this 100% fundraiser for Capital City Pride. 100% of the $10 cover supports Pride as well as all proceeds from the raffle and auctions.

Clothes required, firearms optional :-) Planning this event here but thought some on Olyblog would be interested. Most likely would be at Old School again. All are welcome, be aware, some folks WILL be packing heat in a visible manner. The idea is for folks of like mind, or simply curious to get together and have a good time.

Anyone interested here, RSVP with a day and time (weekends) within the next two weeks and I'll hash out the details (reservations, organizing things with the folks on OpenCarry.org, etc...)

Come take part in planning this years Olympia May Day Celebration. This years events will be held in solidarity with workers world wide and focus on supporting undocumented workers and soldiers in and out of the military.

If you have something that you would like to bring to the table, join us every Tuesday at Last Word Books on 4th Avenue from 6pm to 8pm. We will be hashing out our plans and preparing for the celebration.
