While love of country is great and everything, isn't love of each other even better -- no matter what country (or species)?

I think...

There's something to be said about having a country.

CNN: " Video shows Zimbabwe 'vote-rigging'":

Video secretly recorded by a Zimbabwean prison guard appears to show evidence of vote-rigging in the country's recent presidential runoff election.

"I've decided to leave Zimbabwe," [Shepard] Yuda tells the camera. "It is a painful decision that I should leave."

Imagine having to make the decision to leave your country. While he may have the international community to go to, it's not his home.

So while most people are out doing whatever for the Fourth of July, it's important to remember some people are making the decision to leave their country - just as we did 232 years ago.

Something to think about when pondering America's greatness.

About those fireworks...

Used to love them but my dog absolutely hates them. They were so loud in Tumwater that she feared we were being bombed (my guess). She took it upon herself to resolutely stand OVER me while I was trying to sleep. I had to crawl out from under her and shut the windows to block some of the noise. A restless night, to say the least!
