Probably going to lurk and keep in touch with a few people here, but for the most part I'm done.  I'm sure a few will breathe a sigh of relief, but I don't think I can add anything to Olyblog.

For those I've pissed off with strong convictions and ideals.  I'm sorry.  My strong convictions and ideals run contrary to your strong ideals and convictions.  It was a fun ride, and I made a few friends and met some cool people, but it's time to get off the train.

For those I've enlightened or shared with, thanks for the fun.  6 months, three divisive events in Olympia, and I'm on the liberal progressive board with my not so liberal views....

Rick, thanks for putting up with my dumb ass, you have a nice place and I wish you the best, I'm probably not the best person to be a regular on OB anymore.  If you are near Tugboat Annie's sometime I think I offered you a beer onetime.

Enpen, Rob W, I promised you guys beers too., PM me if you want to take me up on it.  You guys are more I can't see eye to eye with at times, but reasonable and articulate about your beliefs which I appreciate.

Rob R, I think you and I won't see eye to eye on most things, and have pissed each other off a few times.  Good luck with B&R.

Emmett, thanks for popping by my webpage and your encouragement.

To quote the great bard himself Mr. Jimmy Buffett

Visions of good times that brought so much pleasure
Makes me want to go back again.
If it suddenly ended tomorrow,
I could somehow adjust to the fall.
Good times and riches and son of a bitches,
I've seen more than I can recall

I know I've been an SOB, I hope I've added some good times.

Everyone else, Norm, JPO, JT, Evher Green, etc...  I'm lurking and may provide some neutral posts but for the most part I'm going silent.

I do have on last parting shot for OB.  Tomorrow I have my ride along with OPD on which I promised a blog entry and description.  Should be up by Wednesday.

Thanks everyone!

On the DailyKos

they call this a GBCW post.

I love you too Jim :-)

I'm buzzed, I'm angry and I'm trying to keep from making an ass or problems here anymore.

Good-by Cruel World?

Kind of a cyber suicide threat? We've seen an awful lot of these, haven't we? Has anyone who wrote one actually stopped posting?

"Has anyone who wrote one actually stopped posting?"

Hmmm, Deep Diver, FPK1, White Feather, perhaps Krull, haven't heard him here for about a month or two.

hmmm

Krull stopped posting when nobody got into never-ending-arguments with him over his gun posts. Funny how some people are like that...

The other three are all before my time.

Did they actually write GBCW

Did they actually write GBCW letters? I remember Krull and White Feather, but I don't remember reading farewell letters. I remember Olycop's sign-off, though.

"I remember Olycop's sign-off, though."

I bet you do!

You sounded kinda buzzed over at PeterB's...

...it's all good, Six. Don't go man! You're a great guy.

PS: Don't forget to ask what's on their iPods.

Please Reconsider

Olyblog definitely needs your views and insights.

I enjoyed reading your comments and contributions over the past few months. I don't think you should stop participating.

Best Wishes

May you find true peace.

thanks guys

I modified things a bit, I told Rick I would be more or less AWOL for maybe a few months at most.  I do appreciate the people who think I should stick around.  I'm going to lurk and maybe reply on stuff about plants, and self defense and what not, but I'm bowing out just about everything else.

I need a break bad.  :-)

I'll miss your opionions

I enjoyed reading well reasoned opinions whether or not I agreed with them. I'll get my S6 dose over at your blog.

You'll be back, there's

You'll be back, there's nothing you can do about it. Once in, never out. They have to wipe out your account to make it official.

Stevenl might be a bit testy about this - you should offer him a beer too ;-)

:-)

I amend my statement to that I'll be back in a month or two.  Need a break from posting, plus I'm getting important boat parts, and whatnot that need my attention.

Fine, everyone who wants to wander over to my corner of the harbor can hit me up for beers.  (Dang you Merwyn!!)

At least you don't owe me

At least you don't owe me any beer.

Maybe

Maybe you could post updates on what you're doing with yourself. I would be kind of interested  to find out. I know this might seem kind of snarky, but it would be easy to get the impression you just spent all day on the internet.

I want to hear about your boat.

This Internets thing is newish to this codger but

Oh Wait! I got IT. Good By Cruel World, Right!?!

No way! Yer not done yet Mister!

Unless you are posting right before you disappear on some sort of trip where you will not be able to get online (...and I don't imagine that would be the way you roll, even though we have never met), I can't believe you are "mega-serious"!

As far as all the "blog'n while BUZZED, well you get what you pay for =)

Stick-around, "lurk" (or whatever they call it), and just "post free" man...

...call it like you see it and say what you must, remove your vowels yourself preemptively, but don't bottle it up or trip-

Essentially all of our words are worthless, and this is all just meaningless chatter, but then again, this is what we do, who we are, and that is enough in itself.

Be OK with yourself, where-ever you think you are in life.

Maybe relax with a funny DVD, might I suggest the Venture Brothers

the "less done" side of things. Good.

more or less...

:-)  I'll make this reply here, and report on my ride along with OPD tomorrow, but no comments, no new threads until I feel wound down and relaxed.  I was a bit melodramtic (and  amped on caffiene) when I posted this stuff, so now that real world, and kind words are kicking in...

Give me a month or so....
