Please, just a discussion. We won't pick the president here. Use your vote instead. What's wrong with Hilary? I was starting to come around to her (not saying she gets my vote over McCain) and then this from the debate last night: Moderator: Do you think Senator Obama can beat Senator McCain? Why? Why not take this opportunity to say, "No, I don't think he can win," and leave it at that? When pressed (you will be), talk POLICY!!! Would've been a smart move to get some undecided vote decided. Instead we spend most of the debate talking about how they've messed up in the past 2 weeks. Weird. No wonder people don't get more involved. I don't like that we have pundits moderating. Seems like the wrong group of people focused on the things that turn me off to politics at this level. On a

Ahh...
Submitted by security_six on Thu, 04/17/2008 - 11:46pm.Bushism's and democratic infighting. I keep recalling another time when the democrats were so divided, a republican walked into the presidency. Not that there are any parallels between now and 1860 but history could repeat itself. They keep this stuff up, McCain will just walk into office.

Submitted by Anonymously Larry on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 12:56am.It has thrown my support the other way.
I heard a great quote on Stephanie Miller's show - Hillary is a great candidate running a real bad campaign.
Democratic infighting - I thought we WANTED discussion and choices, not preconceived party choices
The goals keep moving everytime I try to kick a field goal.
The last time I remember
Submitted by stevenl on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 5:49am.The last time I remember watching a national political convention with any sense of suspense was in 1976, when Ford and Reagan were at each other. Great theater. Liz Taylor, who was married to Sen. Warner at the time, was sitting in the gallery and told a reporter that politics and show business were one and the same.
EG's post brings up the question, is running a good campaign the same as running a good government? Do they carry their campaign style into public administration after they win?
Yes and no.
Submitted by Rob Richards on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 6:28pm.On a different note: The too oft repeated idea that she's campaigning in the middle and will lead from the left is baloney. She and her husband both are conservative Democrats and always have been.
This may be trite
Submitted by Laurian on Fri, 04/18/2008 - 11:08pm.But I for one are tired of two political families as the alternating figurehead for teh Executive branch of my Federal government. Hillary is a candidate ONLY because her husband was President, just as surely Shrub is President because his Daddy was President. The sense of entitlement is the worst thing that can ever happen to a democracy.
That's what's wrong with Hillary. What is more important is what is right about Obama. It is his positive qualities that lead me to support and vote for him and will put him in the Whitehouse.
Word.
