Last year, I carried bags of wildflower seeds on my walks to and from work and sowed them on to the empty spaces along my route. The results were modest, but measurable.

Flower Bomblet

I'm doing it again this year. Here are a few of the spaces I've "flower bombed." I'll report back later this summer and provide you with some mouseover before-and-after photos of the results.

Oh, and happy Passover everyone. Next year in Jerusalem.

Bombing with flowers indeed!  Good job!

Next year in Jerusalem

Israel will hopefully leave, letting the city be an international religious site controlled by no one faith.

Wow. Thanks Gug...

...way to go.

Bravo

Thank you for doing this and telling us about this. What a wonderful thing to see here on OlyBlog.

Thanks. We'll see how it goes.

It's definately an exercise in "letting go." Last year I witnessed "landscapers" applying herbacides and weedwacking the fruits of my labor.

Universe as meditation

Wow, that is quite the opportunity to practice letting go there! :)

By the way, I appreciate the seeds you plant here on OlyBlog also.

How are those fleurs doing?

Any pics?

One spot's been getting mowed on a regualr basis!

The other, near the capped artisian downtown, remains quite barren. I found one beautiful but solitary red poppy on it the other day. When I came back with my camera is was gone. Perhaps there will be more. They haven't sprayed the wall next to the Brotherhood yet, so maybe the California poppies I snuck in there will yet bloom

Just a couple days after the blooms began

proof the herbiciders had already done their job.
