How well do you know Olympia? Here's the game: Each Saturday I post a picture from somewhere around Olympia and people try to figure out its location. The first person who gets it correct gets a Creative Commons Winner photo. If that doesn't get you excited then you're a wet fart on glass.

Big pieces of metal

It looks like the LOTT plant to me.

a hint

Although the idea of a "wet fart on glass" is mildly repulsive, I nonetheless took it as a hint. Was this a trick question? Were you trying to mislead us with the fart comment?

no devious intention

And though walking across the street from LOTT may sometimes smell like a wet fart, my only intention was to call people who didn't get excited about the prize a wet fart on glass.

Winner!

Between you and your kids your family now has three. Do you know the name of the artist? Between speaking with folks at the Capitol Campus Visitor Center and WSDOT I was told it was titled "Untitled" and nobody could give me the artist's name. It felt like I was asking about some sculpture that got sucked into the void.

Hmmm

Between you and your kids your family now has three.

Well, he is CIAGuy, after all. He's one helluva quick fellow.

enpen, ever thought of compiling these into the books/collections area? I really enjoy your photographic artistry and even though I never guess or I find myself saying, "Hey, I knew that one!" this is a fun interactive project.

I can see beating CIAGuy to the punch will have to be the goal of all of us. I know this guy. It won't be easy. He's good. He's very good. Let the games continue!

We'll see...

sometimes the hare falls asleep beneath a tree.

At some point I'll book these. I'm year first dating them to ease future organization.

Provenance

Between speaking with folks at the Capitol Campus Visitor Center and WSDOT I was told it was titled "Untitled" and nobody could give me the artist's name

Now you've got me goin'...I'm sure there's something on this sculpture's origins. Who did you talk to @ WSDOT? I'm ready to poke around to see what I can find.

this doesn't make sense to me...

from the website

He designed the nine-piece work (the largest being eight-and-one-half feet by twelve feet) to "be accessible to people so that they can become involved both physically and socially."

...
Throughout the years, there have been several instances of graffiti on this piece. State workers cleaned the metal forms after all such cases.
