As the three (or maybe four, or five) day weekend begins, anyone on wheels may want to check road conditions first on the Washington State Department of Transportation site. For instance tonight (Thursday) the ramp from US 101 to southbound Interstate 5 will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday until approx. 5 a.m. Friday.

Got plans? Advice? Thoughts on what Labor Day means? An invite to your neighborhood barbecue? What's cookin'?

Trying to find a place to

Trying to find a place to live by the end of September. Also, suddenly got an opportunity for betterment that has me excited but since I'm superstitious about mentioning things like that before they've come to fruition I'll say no more except that I have two weeks to finish the initial introductory part.

Time for crossed fingers, white magic spells, good vibes and best wishes.

Keeping Cool at Camp Q

Or trying to, anyway. It's getting a little hot here in the parking lot at St. John's Episcopal Church, where 18 or so houseless people now lodge.

We could still really use some volunteers to staff the "Safety and Comfort Team." Write tucocamp@gmail.com to let us know if you'd like to take a three hour shift this weekend. Sunday help especially welcome.

Tammy and I are moving away from the God-awful Heritage Park Apartments and are currently searching for something as affordable and slightly less God-awful.

I'm travelin' to Louisville,

I'm travelin' to Louisville, KY to meet and stay with my guy's parents and find out what's so great about *not* the West coast. In the meantime, I'll plug here for folks to check out Bread and Roses and volunteer an afternoon by giving out mail and answering the phone. Sounds exciting, yes?
