"Share This Place" is a multimedia performance of live music by Mirah Yomtov Zeitlyn and Spectratone International accompanied by the stop-motion animation of Portland artist Britta Johnson. Inspired by the work of French scientist Jean Henri Fabre, this program explores the fascinating lives of insects. Pick up free tickets at the library's information desk beginning June 7. Doors open at 7 p.m.; program begins at 7:30. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Olympia Timberland Library and the Tumwater Timberland Library.

Seriously?

How is the Olympia library so kick ass? I love it. I find Mirah to be amazing...

Awwww, shucks.

On behalf of my awesome place of employment, thanks for the compliment! It looks like the Olympian is going to be running a feature on the show sometime this week, so watch out for that too.

Great fan videos!

Are the scenes in the first one from Lost? I'm one of the only people on the universe that hasn't started watching that yet.

Wow.

Enpen is right, the Olympia Library is awesome. I hope there are tickets left! (and that I can find a babysitter.) The scenes are from Lost, but I'd recommend that you not start watching it. It's cheesy, crappy, TV, but addictive in a 'where did I lose 23 hours of time this month?' kind of way.

if you go tomorrow or tuesday...

there were still over 100 tickets available when I worked on Saturday. Bring your kids! This particular performance was also done last year at the Seattle International Children's Festival- it's totally appropriate for kids, although the bug animation is admittedly slightly creepy. As for Lost, maybe I'll save it for the winter, when I have more compulsion to waste 23 hours...
