Although I'm not sure that Olycop would have minded (and maybe someone got private information saying he did), I'd like to compliment the docents on the decision to pull that blog.

I didn't get to know him that well, but I do recall he had a fairly sharp sense of humor and I'm thinking that he could probably have taken the ribbing, but it was close to harassing and a little too personal. Olyblog doesn't need to open that can of worms.

Now someone find the post where either Norm, Gug, or Merwyn posted the picture of me disguised as Wilford Brimley and delete it.  I don't want to hounded by photograph and autograph requests.

You?

Disguised as Wilford Brimley?

Damn I thought that was Wilford disguised as you!

Under the Wilford cover he

Under the Wilford cover he looks exactly like Burl Ives.

Please give me a second grace. Please give me a second face. I've fallen far down, the first time around, now I just sit on the ground in your way.

Thanks Larry!

I thought the 'OlyCop' article was wrong.

I agree.

It screemed smelled of "personal vendeta" to me.

Finally!

Bullshit

When I noticed the picture was no longer on the front page, I was OK with that - and I thanked Sarah, by phone, though she said she had not done it. I hadn't intended it to be front and center.
But "personal vendetta?" That's crap. The man stood in plain view doing something he should be ashamed of, and I named him. If he's afraid of his name, that is his problem.

I'm Andrew Charles Hendricks, I live in Olympia at 816 Adams Street, and I have no fear of my own picture, nor my own name. And you know why that is? Because I don't go around beating people up to protect privilege or Empire. And I can defend myself quite well.

If OlyCop were still a regular...

...I think we might have had an interesting conversation with him about his participation in the police action. But since he's not around to engage, I think the post wasn't really doing anything for the discussion. There were lots of cops. Were you planning on posting pictures of all of them? If not, then it was personal about John.

I can be wrong

but it did come across as more of a personal issue and not a news story. Just my natural reaction to your presentation. Sorry if it bothered you.

"Because I don't go around

"Because I don't go around beating people up to protect privilege or Empire."

"The man stood in plain view doing something he should be ashamed of, and I named him."

Sure sounds like a personal vendetta to me. Thank you docents for doing the right thing.
