What I See & Hear
Submitted by JstPlnOnry on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 10:26am.are protesters clearly not obeying audible police orders. A woman taunting police while hiding behind a camera, a protester being drug across a street while she's screaming at police to stop using force and when police get him to the curb, he jumps up and walks off, a hear the woman taunting the police slowly realize she's in jeopardy and states she's a peaceful protester because she's worried about herself. I hear others saying they're with her out of fear as well. I hear the voices of those hiding behind a camera realize they're not making any difference and their chants of rage slowly dwindle to amazement then silence when they realize defeat as they film the Stryker vehicles rolling past.
So why is the title of this video police were attack protesters?

Submitted by Guglielmo on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 2:20pm.I am the balding guy in the beginning of the video
Submitted by Guglielmo on Wed, 11/14/2007 - 11:03am.The woman you hear is not taunting the police by any stretch of a rational imagination. She was reminding the police that she was a peacefull observer all evening, NOT just when she thought she was "in danger." No one on that side of the street was in any danger anyway. And no one took refuge under her bullhorn, though I'm not sure why that would be a bad thing.
She was also making announcements through out the evening that probably prevented further injury and additional violence. You missed the part where she repeatedly thanked the police for not using pepper spray on the first line of women they arrested. Or when she reminded some aggressive-sounding protesters that "this is a peaceful protest." If anything, she help keep things more peaceful until the police escalated.
The person who "jumped" off the curb after being dragged had a face load of pepper spray. Threatened with more spray, She "jumped" off the curb with the assistance of another protester and collapsed about six feet away where she was administered first aid.
And the chants dwindled because the majority of the crowd had run down Marine Drive to stop the Strikers.
So says the balding guy in the green wool coat who was there.
Thank you for sharing that
