I thought Phan came across

I thought Phan came across well but that didn't surprise me. When he does his radio show he comes across as if broadcasting is the most natural thing in the world. Also he is a very talented journalist and knows how to get the information and his point out without having it cluttered.

I did have to laugh when Amy Goodman asked him what the community's response was. His reply was that it was positive - 500 people showed up for the march. Now, granted, there could have been some editing done by the Democracy Now crew, but I wonder if Phan happened to mention that there were a quarter-million people in the County.

Please give me a second grace. Please give me a second face. I've fallen far down, the first time around, now I just sit on the ground in your way.

500 is a LOT!!

When you plan an event and get 500 people to show up at it, then you can talk.

I love how you people are

I love how you people are telling us when and how we can talk. If we agree with you on something we "finally have an open mind."

Yeah 500's a lot but hardly representative of the community as a whole. Now, if one of the cops had been killed that weekend you could bet there'd be a Hell of a lot more than 500 people showing up at their memorial.

Please give me a second grace. Please give me a second face. I've fallen far down, the first time around, now I just sit on the ground in your way.

I'm pretty sure he meant "then you can talk"

in a figurative sense. I would add that had a demonstrator been killed (as was considerably more likely) then we would have seen a hell of a lot larger crowd as well. The only difference would be the bagpipe band.

All I can say is...

Yea national coverage! I'd heard the story has spread but the DN! broadcast was the first national show I heard reference the efforts. I re-read the article, but missed the "500" mentioned above. I did see the "400" & "more than four hundred" quoted though...
