Proudly, I was asked last year to submit information to be a part of this website. I had kind of forgotten about it, and stumbled on it today. After you check my page, enjoy the entire website - a history of music of The Pacific Northwest.

Ramrods

Nice resource for PNW rock band history, thanks. I need to compile something about the Ramrods out here in McCleary. They started in the late 1950s and had some TV gigs and I believe even cut a single. I was going to interview their drummer but then he had to go and die on me before we got together.

What a shame!

I'm a huge fan of Northwest Rock and Roll - that being the local bands of the 50s and 60s, when local airtime was actually possible.

Corporate radio has ruined regional sound.  Thinking beyond the Northwest Sound, there was Motown and the Philly Sound, that became national hits.  Without their start on a local or regional level, they would have never "happened".
