Tobacco
Submitted by stevenl on Fri, 10/24/2008 - 6:12pm.is a rough one to kick. The edginess and weight gain are just two of the challenges to deal with. I've had my own struggles with nicotine over the years and finally settled on cigars for quite a long time on a daily basis. But for some reason I've lost interest and without even thinking about it I've found myself hardly ever burning a stogie. I'm not sure why, but the craving has left me. Maybe because I haven't sworn them off and know for a fact I'll enjoy a good cigar in the near future. So there is no pressure for me to stop. It is just happening naturally.
I had an uncle who grew tobacco back in Dickenson County, Virginia. He plowed with a big white mule on land that sat at a 45 degree angle up in the Cumberland Mountains. Tobacco plants look like cornstalks, only meaner. One time he was tending his crop when a big Black Snake, wrapped around a stalk, bit him. As his limb swelled he made sure to "nail that son of a bitch with a 2 x 4" before going to the hospital. I hope you smokers appreciate what the farmers have to do to help feed the habit.
Thanks for posting this Chia.
