Richard III
By William Shakespeare.
State Theater (downtown Olympia).
October 4 to October 27. 8 pm Thursday to Saturday; 2 pm Sunday.
Directed by Scot Whitney.
Richard is charmingly ruthless as he carves his way to the top!
One of the most famous villains in theatrical history is brought to ruthless life in one of Shakespeare's most intense plays. With wit and guile, the deformed Richard murders his way through his own family to reach the throne, only to find he has yet further need for skullduggery.
Richard is cold and calculating, while others are angry, emotional, or simply silent in the face of his atrocities. He combines an oily charm, a deliciously pitch-black wit, and the skills of an accomplished actor to achieve his ravenous ends.
