And a big tip of the cap to Ruby for the heads-up.

Olympia's own Pat Tassoni (OlyBlogger) will be represented in the Aug./Sept. issue of Ready Made Magazine. While I have no idea exactly what I'm congratulating yet: Right on, Pat.

Congratulations, "McGyver"!

Instead of doing what most guys do with remote controls (refusing to let anyone else touch them), Pat did something useful with his, and got some kind of MacGyver award from Readymade. Pat makes all kind of useful and aesthetically pleasing objects out of recycled things. I have an awesome nightlight made out of an old turn signal light. At Quality Burrito, they have a coatrack Pat made out of recycled pieces of shiny metal; I don't know what they were originally, maybe dental torture implements or something. All this and more can be seen on his website, Pat-works.com and his flickr site. A lot of his stuff is for sale, too, although I have already taken the very best stuff, and the rest of it is going fast. Congratulations on your award, Pat!

Mmmmmm. Me want...

When you think of the long and gloomy history of man, you will find more hideous crimes have been committed in the name of obedience than have ever been committed in the name of rebellion. -C.P. Snow
