What do you hope to achieve before the end of summer 2007?

Are you going to work outside? Do you find yourself reflecting on the past? Is your focus on family?

And a question to the weather gods: Is summer already over?

a present and stuff

Aside from the constant daddy, family, work, poetry, performance and OlyBlog stuff, I'm going to try to create a book for my brother wherein one major world event per month is documented (visually or poetically) from the month of his birth through either his 21st birthday or the end of this year. I haven't decided which, yet.

We're closer to the equinox than to the solstice.

Buster

To set aside some time just to watch and laugh at another Buster Keaton movie.

I also have a cat named Buster, and I'm still trying to teach him the lyrics to "It's Not Unusual," but it isn't realistic to expect him to get it all by the end of summer.

O the humanity

You are trying to teach a cat to sing? Haven't you learned your lesson concerning animals (a.k.a. caimans) already?
»

Teaching Buster to sing is

Teaching Buster to sing is completely different. He is not "pure evil." Why do you persist in tormenting me over my slightly bad choice concerning the you-know-whats? Have I not apologized enough? Will a caiman have to eat me for dinner to make you happy, to make you think I have finally paid the price? O these are dark days indeed.

For what it is worth, I'm not having much luck teaching Buster to sing.

Buster may need a sock strategically placed...

If you're gonna cover Tom Jones, you gotta sell it, baby!

It's Not Unusual

Steve, I know you like cover versions so be sure to check out The Pleasure Barons "Live in Las Vegas" where they cover this tune as part of "The Definitive Tom Jones Medley." They also hit a couple other good 60s songs, "Take a Letter Maria" and "Amos Moses." Currrent status of the PB's: Country Dick Montana, RIP. Mojo Nixon, retired and living the good life I hope. Dave Alvin still rules!

Any list of covers must include a selection from Richard Cheese.  Especially "Baby Got Back"
