Speaking of which, the city is recruiting for eight advisory boards:

  • Arts Commission – 3 citizen-at-large positions
  • Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee – 3 citizen-at-large positions
  • Design Review Board – 2 citizen-at-large positions and 1 architect position
  • Heritage Commission – 5 citizen-at-large positions
  • Lodging Tax Advisory Committee – 2 citizen-at-large positions and 1 person representing agencies eligible to provide Lodging Tax funded tourism service
  • Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee – 4 citizen-at-large positions
  • Planning Commission – 3 citizen-at-large positions
  • Utility Advisory Committee – 3 citizen-at-large positions

Do you care about Olympia? Do you live in the Urban Growth Area (not necessarily in the city limits)? You should apply before February 25!

I would say that I'm seriously considering this myself, which would prove that I'm not a hypocrite, but I'm actually going to try to get on the Friends of the Olympia Library board. While not really an advisory board, they do a lot of work for a city owned building.

And, if you're wondering if I'm going to turn this into a long string of posts, yes I am.
