Challenge Congressman Brian Baird on his failed policy of support for the "Surge", his lack of support for impeachment, and his continued willingness to vote for funding military belligerence and the illegal occupation / war of aggression against Iraq. Citizens actively opposed to Congressional inaction on Impeachment will peaceably assemble outside of and near to the Olympia office of Congressman Brian Baird tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20th, 2008 from between 4pm to 6pm. In the past six months we have heard much discussion on Congressman Brian Baird and his public support for the “surge” military strategy in Iraq. Many people have disagreed with his decision and some accuse him of not appropriately representing his constituents. Well, it looks like the question “Is Congressman Baird representing the citizens of the 3rd Congressional District?” will get it’s real test this summer and fall. Ms. Cheryl A. Crist is challenging Congressman Baird for the Democratic nomination for the 3rd Congressional. On her campaign website, she lists her positions on a number of issues including:

I told the representative staffers that I need Congressman Baird to do everything in his power to oppose an attack on Iran given the absence of transparent and thoroughly verifiable evidence that Iran might pose an imminent threat to the USA. Given how the Bush Administration's use of false pretenses led to an unnecessary attack on Iraq - it's crucial that Congress, and my Congressman, do everything in their power to insure against another unjustified, unlawful aggressive attack.
