from rawstory:
In racially exclusive neighborhood, residents worried Bush will make it a 'target'

12/06/2008 @ 9:10 pm
Filed by Andrew McLemore

As President Bush prepares to move into his new Dallas home at the end of his term, neighborhood residents worry about having him close by.

One woman shared her fears as she walked past Bush's house carrying her King Charles cocker spaniel on Friday.

"I am afraid with all the negative press the president has been getting, the whole neighborhood is going to be a target," said the woman, who refused to give her name.

...
...the exclusive Dallas community the Bush family will soon join has a troubled history of its own.

Until 2000, the neighborhood association's covenant said only white people were allowed to live there, though an exception was made for servants. [emphasis added]

Readers Theater Production of "I": The Impeachment of George W. Bush | Studio Screening
Studio Screening of "I" The Impeachment of George W. Bush

Keep your eyes and ears tuned to TCTV for scheduling of the Readers Theater production of "I" The Impeachment of George W. Bush. The screenplay was co-authored by Richard Lasser and Bruce Fein. Richard Lasser is a professional play-wright based in Seattle. Bruce Fein is an attorney and an authority on constitutional law and impeachment. Bruce Fein scripted impeachment articles for both Nixon and Clinton - and he has been a vocal advocate for the impeachment of George W. Bush. His opinion as an expert on impeachment has been widely recognized, considered, and published - on the Internet and elsewhere.

I had an acting role in the play. I acted as Michael Scheuer, who was head of the CIA Bin Laden unit, which was (is?) in charge of the extraordinary rendition program.

I hope you get a chance to see the play for yourself. Included in the production is a very informative and high quality interview of the author, Richard Lasser, by TCTV regular, Glen Anderson. So, please check it out. Be informed!

Here's a slideshow of photos taken during production:

Well, I know this is hardly local but it does affect us locally and you might laugh a bit.

I was just out of the shower and getting dressed for work so we're talking PRE-COFFEE. Then I heard part of "the interview" replayed on NPR's "Morning Edition". What follwed was a very casual question/answer session with George and Laura. It was kind of surreal and it just washed over me. Throughout the day, I check various news sites for, well, news. I'm addicted like that. I suspect a few of us in here are, too.

BUT nothing. This story had some many ways to go. I'm sure it'll show up on late-night talk etc.

So here's a brief portion of the interview:

CURRY: Some Americans believe that they feel they’re carrying the burden because of this economy.

G. BUSH: Yeah, well…

CURRY: They say we’re suffering because of this.

G. BUSH: … I don’t agree with that.

CURRY: You don’t agree with that? It has nothing do with the economy, the war — spending on the war?

G. BUSH: I don’t think so.

I think actually the spending in the war might help with jobs.

CURRY: Oh, yeah?

G. BUSH: Yeah, because we’re buying equipment, and people are working.

I think this economy is down because we built too many houses and the economy’s adjusting.

Anyhoo... ya gotta really hear it or see it. Bush laughs at some strange moments and it's just weird.

I looked on NPR and Youtube and all I've got for ya is this but there's video: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/02/18/bush-iraq-economy

Cheers!
